How doe everyone here wear their hair at night?

Ive just recently started putting my hair into loose bantu knots at night and then fingercombing them out for curls in the morning.

Is this healthy?

What are other ways to wear your hair at night to get some kind of no heat style in the morning.

Im new so Im not fully aware of all the diffrent styles yet.

Help a sista out.

I use bantu knots sometimes. I think the key is to mix the location so as to not have the same parts and stress on the knots. This is a great protective way to set your hair. Also you can try pincursl and the soft rollers.

Bantu knots are very healthy. I do one or to of those if I want curls/waves. I also do one big pin curl if I want a slightly bumped under look.

I'm not sure what look you're going for but cross wraps are nice to do as well. They're for more of a straight look, no bump or wave.

I've used bantu knots but recently I've been pincurling my hair. I have pics of both in my Fotki. The pics of the pin curlers are large loose ones, when I want more curles make smaller ones all over. I like both. HHG

ETA: Some ladies here do braids or twists at night for wavy looks also.

Yeah I have always wrapped my hair up at night.... but in the morning I end up using heat to "bump it" or curl it anyway, so I figured I should probably look for a style that I didn't need heat AT ALL to style it in the morning.

When you do your Bantu knots, do you use bobby pins to secure them?

I have this phobia that the bobby pins are going to rip my ends up at night while I sleep (I sleep like a wild woman, tossing and turning and kicking my husband in the back all night)

Do you think the bobby pins would be a problem?

I do bantu knots and I use the small pony tail holders. I have pics in my fotki in the protective styles folder. Check out the "bantu knots July 2007" pic. I also do braidouts by cornrowing my hair in 4 - 6 braids and fingercombing the the morning.:)

Bobby pins shouldn't be a problem. I can't get them to stay in right though.

I usually just wrap a small scunci around the knot making sure to keep the end tucked smoothly inside, otherwise your ends will come out all bent up, lol. I only do one or two knots so it stays in really well.

You are absolute right.
Make sure to alternate in which directing you curl them up or make them on different spots.
I grew my hair from nl/earlength on some parts to SL without the use of heat:)
