Next Day Reversion of Second Texlax WTH!!

I texlaxed the back of my hair about 3 months ago, heavily coated my hair with oil first and left a mild in for 6 minutes including application. I documented it here..http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=532331

Last night I did the same section again because it had reverted over the 3 months. http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=544521

Well tonight, the next day it has reverted again!! :drunk:
Is it because I coated the hair too heavily in oil/Chi silk infusion prior to relaxing? Or the 6 minutes including application? Whatever the case my hair is curly AGAIN! LOL, I give up, I guess texlaxing does not work for me.

This is one of the reasons I stopped relaxing, because my hair would never stay straight. I figured it just wasn't meant to be. I tried different strengths, diff amounts of time, but my hair basically told me it wasn't gonna stay straight & I had to accept it. Maybe your hair is the same way lol

This is me...I'm an accidental texlaxer lol. No matter how straight i try and get my hair it always leaves lots of texture after a relaxer so now i just accept it lol.

I'm so confused by this lol! It was like 2b last night but today I'm back to 3b! It's frizzy again too. I will not dare try to texlax without basing my hair heavily because I'm too scared of damage so I guess I have to give up now lol, just doesn't work. That hair in back is staying curly :nono:.

Also, it's crazy to me that the heat damage in the sides and front has causes way more straightness than a freaking relaxer in back lol. If I dared to use relaxer on my front and sides I'd lose all my length yet in the back of my head my curls laugh at heat and relaxer. I have some iron curls back there lol.

I don't really understand this, but I find that when I used to relax and it seemed it reverted, I find that it was underprocessed and just too k a little time to show. Usually by the next wash I would really tell. Not sure what advice to give- but I don't think going over the same part repeatedly will help- could end up with overprocessing and still not have straight hair...

Just wondering if you'd consider just being natural. Seems to me that your curl is fairly loose to begin with and the texturizer isn't really working for you. This was my story too. I always had underprocessed hair when I used chemicals. I stopped not because I was so desirous of being natural but because relaxers didn't really take and I always ended up wearing my hair curly/wavy anyway (but obviously it was not healthy). I decided it wasn't worth the drama given my failures at straightening. And if you're still not sure about wearing your hair curly, with the right technique, you could still flat iron for straight hair.

same problem here OP! I sympathize with you. My siggy below is my texture after 3+ correctives. I've actually lost count! I give up

Have you tried putting the oil in the relaxer instead of your hair? My hair reverted with a mild also, so I switched to regular. However, your curls are looser than mine, so a regular may get your hair too straight.

My hair never got straight when I relaxed.

May I asked what was the weather like where you are?

It rained where I am at last night. If I have gotten a relaxer it would have reverted quite easily even if I did not go outside.

What technique do you use when applying? Do you "smooth" the relaxer? Maybe that has something to do with it.

Maybe you should stop diluting your relaxer with oil. it is not working for you.:look: It is impossible for a relaxer to revert. Your hair is still relaxed no matter how little you leave it on for. Your curl pattern is already loosened since your last texlax. You will not get the same results of your first texlax, no matter how many touch ups you do. Each retouch, you are slightly removing more and more texture.:nono: Texlaxing is harder than relaxing bone strait. The results can vary each time. Sometimes you have to settle for the "texture" you get or risk losing the curl pattern all together.

Yep, same reason I stopped texlaxing as well.

Yes I actually went out into the heavy rain last night!!

I would probably increase my time longer than 6 minutes next time or bump Mild up to Regular and smooth a little better/longer.

I would also rotate my start area and not start in the same area each time.

I'd probably spritz my Hair with the Chi Silk Fusion, Lightly coat Previous relaxed Ends.

I mentioned in your last post about this that you hair is textured not texlaxed.

Relaxers are meant to remove some curl not all of it.

Stop using a mild
Or
stop applying so much oil

The mild is mild enough to not remove as much kink. You are putting to much of a buffer btwn your hair and the relaxer.

Also if you are using a LYE/sodium hydroxide relaxer you not get bone straight hair.
If you continue doing these two things you will continue getting the same results
