newly naturals R u planning 2 relax 1 day?

No!! I love the versatility of natural hair, plus my hair is much heathier! If i ever feel the need to wear it straight i'll just flat iron it. So I think I am going to be natural foreverrrr. Lol.

I don’t think I will ever go back to relaxing. Being on this forum has shown me that natural hair can have so much versatility. So I plan to stay natural. But if I were to ever relax again—I think I am now armed with the proper knowledge to take better care of my hair than before I found LHCF.

I may texlax if I can't really manage my hair when it gets to WL. If I can get my styles together and I can deal with it, then I won't bother with any chemicals. But I get overwhelmed now and it's not even APL!! I'm sure I'll regret it sooner or later if I did, so it's probably best to not even go down that road and have to start all over again.

Never say never. If I decide I want a change I'll try less permanent methods first (BKT, etc) before relaxing. If I do go back I'll probably texlax instead of going bone straight. I know I love my coilies though and I would miss them
All of this. I have contemplated texlaxing at WL, but I would never go bone straight -- ever since I went natural, seeing hair straight when it's wet is just WEIRD to me. Also, I figure by then I will either be really good at using that flat iron/hot comb or phenomenal at rollersets -- shoot, they charge me the extra $10 at the Dominican salon for being natural and ANOTHER $10 for "long hair" and I'm not even BSL yet -- God knows what they'd come up with if I went in there with WL natural hair. I was good at ponytail rollersets when my hair was SL, but I'm too scared to try it now...plus my rollers are too small. I definitely plan on learning how to do a good rollerset on this length of hair SOON.

I agree with some of the other ladies,

I would do BKT first, and my last stop would be Texlaxing if BKT does work out. I acutally didnt go natural to be natural, i went natural because i was half bald:lachen: But before that i happened i wanted to my natural curl pattern too, i like it I change my mind so much i would never say "No!".

I like being natural now but i dont no where my hair will end up 3yrs from now, hopefully i will be TBL wether its curly or straight.

When I first began the natural hair journey back in 2004, I planned (tried to put in in stone) on growing it long and healthy then destroying my texture with a relaxer once I reached APL/BSL stretched. Fast forward to six years later, I love my unruly texture. I like what I can do with it. My hair has many styles in one unlike my relaxed hair which was flatish after a few days. I can also get my hair wet and go swimming when I please unlike when I was younger with a relaxer. I would have to wait until I got braids to get my hair wet in the summer.

I'm not a new natural but I recently started to wear it natural all of the time versus when my press wore out or when my weave was taken out.

For now I'm saying ... naw gyurl!... just because I'm really lazy and hated getting touchups.. with my natural hair I don't have to worry much about going to the salon.. I pretty much can run my own life... and not let my hair rule me.. (well except when it's wash day and we spend quality time together)
