Hello all,
I've been a lurker for a long time
, but I was thinking about ordering takeout tonight and and said to myself, "Self, you could subscribe to LHCF for a whole year for that price!" So here I am! After many many years of hair abuse I am trying to do better with my hair, which leads me to my questions:
1) I am texturized and have stretched for approximately 4 months now. I am on the 'nappier' side of texturized though so it is difficult for me to decide the line of demarcation on my hair and I was wondering if you ladies had any tricks or tips for that. Here are a couple of pictures of my naked hair, wet. I currently use Soft & Beautiful No Lye texturizer. I realize now No Lye may not have been the best choice but I've decided I want to remain consistent with what goes on my head until I have my regi figured out.
My hair does NOT look this loose and wavy when dry!!
2) Since my hair is too curly and maybe I'm a bit lazy
I get a lot of knots in my hair. I know a lot of you talk about single strand knots, but mine are more like multi car pile on disasters
. It' almost impossible to detangle without breaking hair no matter if I use oil or conditioner to try to soften it up. I try my best to either sleep in a bun or in braids, but I get knots either way. Any suggestions?
Finally I just want to thank you all for being such a good public resource, you have saved my hair! This is my 4 month progress picture, I think it is pretty decent considering I've been unable to retain any length since I was a teen! Excuse the ugly back.
Other info people might want to know:
I use Pantene Relaxed & Natural Shampoo and moisturizers
I use Coconut Oil or EVOO as a sealant
I use Giovanni leave in or HE Hello Hydration
I DC with Queen Helene's Cholesterol
