Hey everyone! Just a newbie coming out of lurking for a llloooonnnngggg time.
Long story short. I've been relaxed since I was ~10 years old and always about SL or a little longer. Went through a salon phase with a great stylist (not so great haircare tech). In Dec. 2007 got a relaxer (my last) and then a full weave install 2 weeks later which I kept in for 4 weeks. After taking it down I realized that my usually dense, full hair felt crappy and thin. Went web searching for hair help and stumbled on LHCF. Decided to transition for hair health and because I was curious about my natural texture. Went through many, many hair trends(e.g. baggying, wigs, MN, bunning, micros, PJism). Decided to hunker down and just listen to my hair for the long haul.
Started washing and DCing on a weekly basis and either bunning, braiding, or twisting for PS. Did my BC in April 2009 with shoulder length natural hair. This past weekend marked 2 years of growth since my last relaxer.
As of late I have been following along in the Twisting for Growth Challenge since Sept.
Don't have many pics (sorry ) but this is a current one. I straightened (kind of) a couple of weeks ago and the longest layer was APL but I dusted and DH cut even though I asked for a small trim and this is what I'm left with. (BTW my edges are naturally thin and moreso now due to excessive post-partem shedding)
