Hello, i recently switched from using no-lye relaxers to using lye relaxers. I was just wondering if it is normal for the hair to feel stiff and dry after washing the relaxer cream out of the hair. The relaxer I used was Proclaim mild relaxer, I also used their neutralizing shampoo which made the hair feel even dryer.

Mine feels stiff and dry, too, and I used a mild lye as well. I thought I was overprocessed, but with the help of a fellow LHCF sis, she thought that the relaxer just may have stripped all the moisture out of my hair. Just focus on intensive deep conditionings and you should be fine.:)

I think it depends what relaxer you use. I've gotten the softest results using Silk Elements and Barry Fletcher.

I also leave Porosity control on mixed with another conditioner and my hair is soft as ever.
