New regimen, any thoughts?

After getting my jilbere flat iron, I shamelessly used it sometimes three days in a row. I know, I know. I'm bowing my head, now, believe me. I'm keeping my jilbere, but I'm going heatless now. The next time I use it will probably be on my birthday (November).

Here's what I've been thinking about for my new regimen. I've been on it for one day now:

Wash and deep condition hair once a week
Place hair in cornrows
Oil hair regularly.

Because my hair loves natural oils and essential oils, I've been putting WGO on the parts of my hair between each braid (I cornrow my hair back, then put it in a low ponytail, cornrow that, then secure the ends with a small ponytail cover. Then I dip the ends, all the way up to the second ponytail scrunchie, in meadowfoam oil and put it in a bun.

Day one: Oil parts with WGO
Oil hair with rosemary oil every other Monday
Day three: Oil hair with jojoba oil
Day four: Oil hair with castor oil
Day five: Oil hair with emu oil

Days two and six, I won't put anything on my hair. Even though my scalp absorbs the oils very well, I don't want to clog my pores or anything.

I will put the oils on at night so they won't be so strong smelling in the daytime. I've already done the first two steps and so far so good. No itching or anything. The rosemary oil adds a good tingle to the scalp and helps stimulate growth from my understanding.

Before I go to sleep, I put a satin 'skully' cap on my hair and pull it down as far as it can go. I then tie two cotton handkerchiefs around it. This keeps my cornrows looking nice and fresh the next day by cutting out frizz and soaking up any leftover oils.

I'm thinking of keeping this regimen until the same time next year because right now I'm at bra clasp length and I would like to be at elbow length one year from now.

Same hair..Please tell us how much growth you gained as well.

I was using the rosemary oil to stimulate the scalp which would help with circulation of blood which grows your hair. Since I am now very certain that I can't stand the smell of a whole bunch of rosemary, I will do it only once a month. That stuff is strong!

I was going to use the castor and emu oil for the same purpose.

The WGO oil is very moisturizing and good for the hair because it has other oils in it as well. I was going to use the jojoba oil because it's also very moisturizing.

I have ruled out some of the oils for the following reasons:

Rosemary: hate the way it smells
Castor: too sticky
Emu: too costly

I will now just use the jojoba and the WGO oils. They are by far the best for my hair. I will still use the meadowfoam oil on the ends of the braids because it really soaks in and moisturizes.
