Hey Army girl!! Keep up what u are doing!! Your hair is absolutely gorgeous!!!!! I would absoultely die to have those beautiful thick silky tresses!!!
I also have to agree with Brownie on the brastrap thing, I notice that with my sport bras the straps are higher and with another bra I have the strap is so low that I will not use it to measure the length of my hair.
Keep it up girl!!!!

Your hair looks great! I especially like your waves in the May pics...even though you say your hair is underprocessed.
You'll reach your goal. Maybe if you focus on the health...the length will come. It seems my hair grows when I pay less attention to it. Dont' worry..your hair looks great!

Girl puleeeze! (I'm really trying to stress that.
Obsessing...yep that's exactly what you were doing because your hair is GORGEOUS!!! and it looks like you're only 1-2 inches away from bra strap! You'll be there soon I'm sure. Just like everyone else said...when you're NOT paying as much attention to it. And I think that under processing is better than over processing. At least you don't have to worry about your hair coming out.

I'd wager most of us can see progress in others better than we see it in ourselves. I really can't judge my hair length very well. It seems to grow too slow for me. But I guess the trick is to stick to your regime. You'll wake up one day like, "Hey, where did all this hair come from!"

over your hair reaching the length you want. You will reach your hair goal if you just believe in your hair and believe in yourself. Keep up what you are doing(a very good job might I add!) and stop worring over length. I know that my hair grows faster in the warm months and slower in the cool months. Maybe that is what is going on with your hair or vice versa. If you just continue on it will start to happen just believe it!

Not sure about the max thing. I do believe that we all have one you know your hair better than anyone, but it looks fabulous, in fact I think your my hair goal, but I usually max out at about 4 inches above bra strap, but we'll see...
Health is more important and your hair definitely, looks good. Maybe there'll be power surge...

I totally understand about the underprocessed hair. It does look like a braid out. But I think it looks beautiful. I think the underprocessed parts will get under your skin and bug you if you let it. It will all work itself out in the end and the most important thing is that your hair is healthy.

As far as reaching its maximum potential, I doubt you've done that yet. Your hair is going to keep on growing no matter what. That's my belief. It's just a matter of taking care of what you already have, and taking your mind off of the length side of it, and just focusing on the health. There are many women who would LOVE to have that length that you have now. You are truly blessed!

Army -- I have to agree with everyone else and say that your hair is gorgeous and has come a long way. I'm currently at the length you were in oct 02 (i believe it was) and I would luv to get to the length you are at now. When you transitioned from a no-lye to a lye relaxer how long did you wait to use the lye relaxer? Also your hair looks thicker from using a lye relaxer. How did you get it to thicken up? My hair is extremely straight from my last no-lye relaxer (african pride). I would like to get it to thicken up a little. I'm in my 9th week of my relaxer and have been tryin do single braids to make my hair look fuller. (seems to be working) My deep conitioning seems to allow me to go longer between relaxers. I am goin to try to do the lye relaxer thing on June 21 (11 weeks). Do you take any vitamins?

I agree. Focus on health, you'll be at bra strap in no time! Summer is always good for some inches.
You hair is beautiful. It looks really good. Your arms are crossed (which causes the top of your back to hunch a little) so that may be part of the reason why you don't see as much growth (an inch can make a difference). Also, your hair looks little more fuller than in the March pic. It looks good just not as smoothed down on the top.
I'm thinking your hair is actually bra strap. I know when I roll my hair a certain way it still looks straight but thicker and some of the length is taken up. Take another pic with it smoothed back as in the March pic and your arms unfolded and see if you notice a difference.
Oh and I don't think you've reached your growht potential yet.

girl, i don't know WHAT you talkin 'bout!!! i LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your hair in the "underprocessed" pics!!! that is the kind of perm that i personally seek when i get mine done. i never want it bone straight. you can achieve the straight look temporarily and not weaken your hair as much. i think you should ease up on the relaxing time and continue to work with your hair like that!!!

Girl you and your hair are so beautiful. You look so much like my oldest daughter from behind especially in the underprocessed picture. That's what her hair looks like. I guess her hair must be underprocessed. Could you please let me Know how you fixed this. Your hair looks so good.
