It's just nice to have a "back-up" with the wash-n-wear, and not having to be scared of going on vacation or swimming, etc. and getting my hair wet.

That's the TRUTH!!!!

Natural is cool, but it was NO fun for me!!!

Now I am really getting interested in this wash and wear idea. like u model chick I like the versatility of straight and curly styles. Question do u texturize on your own?

Thx bimbabe!

Crysdon--actually, my hair doesn't get too tangled. I wet it in the shower and let the water detangle, once out of the shower, I apply my Elasta Mango Butter and D&L Honey Wave glaze and then either let airdry or sit under the hair dryer on the lowest/cool setting for like 5 minutes--and then finished getting ready to go to work or whatever. Before I walk out of the door, I take and pick and sort of pick out the roots to create more volume (never ever, ever, ever--pick all the way through to the ends because it will look frizzy)--and that's it. Also, I'm not sure how long your hair is--but I just got 3 inches cut off of the bottom of my hair to even it up more, so now, my hair straight is collarbone length, which makes styling a little easer. I'm actually loving the little "bob" look I have going now!

your hair is definitely an inspiration!!! I can't see the revised album yet.....apparently alot of hits!!! (not surprised)

Model Chick, you have GREAT pics! I love your hair! I'm in the process of going natural for the second time. I've now cut my hair down to the newgrowth (minus about 1/4 - 1/2 an inch on top (I'm keeping that for my "spiked look" for now while it's short, but I figure I'll get rid of it as it grows out! I have 2 inches of newgrowth and after thinking about it for a while - and now after seeing your pics again, I'm really seriously considering texturizing! I used to be texturized after I went natural the last time. I LOVED my texturized hair! The ONLY reason I went relaxed again was specifically to rock a long Farrah Fawcett flipped out do. Well, I've done that for the last two years and am now growing out natural again and I have a strong feeling that by tonight I may end up texturized again. But here's my dilemma. Before when I was texturized it was longish (about 2 inches below shoulder length) and now I only have 2 inches of newgrowth. What can I expect from short TExturized hair??

I think short texturized hair can be very pretty--it's just IMO that it would be hard to grow out texturized hair from a short texturized style unless you wait a REALLY long time in-between retouches, so that you don't risk overlapping. Make sense?

Hey mc, I can get to your albums, but when I click on them I get an error message that says there's something wrong with the date on the site. I'm not sure what that is, but maybe you can let me know if I'm doing something wrong...I'd like to see your pics...especially with all the wonderful compliments on them.

I am dying to see your pics but as usual there are too many hits! You really have me considering texturizing...

Thanx for sharing!

Thx Denali and mufasa!

Yeah, I'm trying to tone down JUST a bit--I've been enjoying it a little too much, as if ya couldn't tell. haha

Well keep enjoying it especially fro those that can't at the moment! With all the stress I got going on I could not imagine having the glamorous life that you seem to lead!

I've been transitioning for 3 1/2 months and if I texturized tonight, I wouldn't consider doing so for at least 3 months, but I think I could go even longer - like 4. My hair grows around .6 inches per month, so every 3 months I'd have like another 2 inches. So if I do it tonight, then I'll do it again in July. If I chicken out, I'll probably just wait until then because by then I'll have like 4 inches! That will be better to do it with than so short. Choices, choices!! Thanks for your help Model! Your hair is definitely an inspiration to us all!

If I don't chicken out and I do it tonight - I already know what product I'll use. I use the same one I used in 2000 - Soft Sheen Botanicals Texturizer! It was nice and extremely mild. I would just want to barely loosen my natural curl pattern. Man...................now I'm dreaming of wash n wear days...............ah (sigh)!!
