Regarding scalp stimulation, a 5 to 10 minute scalp massage several times per week will definitely enhance circulation and the delivery of nutrients to the follicles.

I used to massage nightly, but now I do it a few nights per week as well as before each shampoo (I shampoo every 4 days).

i like to sometimes do pre-shampoo hot oil treatments. this is what i use in my little concoction:

- olive oil
- honey
- peppermint oil
- rosemary oil
- palmarosa oil
- lavender oil

basically, i just throw whatever essential oils i have in with the olive oil.

the peppermint oil is really stimulating. i also have cinnamon oil, but even though i wash twice and condition, i end up smelling like a breakfast pastry. so i stopped using it as much.

after applying the oil mix, i put on a plastic cap and let body heat works its magic. sometimes i'll give myself a massage if i'm not doing anything else. i leave it on for at least an hour before washing it out.
