I'd try it if I actually thought it would work.

Nobody's butt sweat will kill you. (although it might not smell so good). Think about it, we're killin ourselves anyway. If you eat american food, you are poisoning yourself to death.
People do much worse things to themselves. We kill, cook and eat pigs, cows, chicken and use animal fat to cook it in; we drink artificially sweetened drinks and soda which turns to formaldehyde in our bodies: Our water is polluted!!!!, we ingest unecessary medications, birth control pills that have life threatening risks (such as blood clots, myocardial infarctions, DEATH etc). We breathe in toxins from the air and cleaning products that can kill you, we use soap, toothpaste and apply lotion to our skin which all contain potentially dangerous chemicals that most of us cant spell......but when something not so practical is mentioned, we're so quick throw our noses up at it?
Why?

God has given each and every one of us the ability to choose and make decisions (sound and unsound).

Basically, what one person chooses to do is their own business!!!....cuz we're all dying anyway.

Have a nice day :)

No, I wouldn't do just anything to make my hair grow faster. Sorry. The opinion that we are all dying anyway and do all sorts of things that are dangerous only convinces me that we shouldn't add to that list. Some of the environmental things we are subjected to are largely beyond our control. What we can control, we should. For instance, I don't smoke even though we are all dying anyway.

I would want to know several things before I used monkey B** sweat. One would be about any studies done on the effects on humans. Another equally important thing I would want to know is how this sweat is collected. Would such a market contribute to animal poaching? Would the monkey population be threatened? If so, what effect would this have on the general forest population? On the human population as far as trade and livelihood is concerned? Etc.

I have failed miserably at being environmentally and socially responsible. I am really trying to be better and live a healthier life. So at this point, I don't know if I would use monkey sweat if such a thing could grow hair faster. I would have to find out more about it.

Preach it!!

lol you guys are funny. While it is true that we are all "killing" ourselves anyway, but like Cichelle said, "why add anything else to the list". I think the, "We're all gonna die anyway" debate is kinda, well....crazy. It reminds me of a smoker who justifies smoking by the same "logic". I know everyone has different goals, but when it gets to the point of trying to reach a hair goal "NO MATTER THE COST" thats plan scary to me and something that I have a hard time understanding. I mean whats the point of having LONG hair when your SICK OR DEAD.

The fact is that many of US are so willing to jump on the bandwagon w/o THINKING about the what ifs? I think we fall into a trap sometimes and get lost in the shuffle. While its great to try new things, WE need to try to make ourselves more aware....society knows that we're DYING to grow our hair long too....I wouldn't be too quick to accept everything.... Look at their track record, do you think they care about "our health"????. Nope thats our job.

The more we are informed the more the door opens for us to make more informed decisions about our hair. I understand that everybody does not want to be "educated" and would rather just "do". I also understand that everything effects different people different ways..... BUT I mean should we really seek the same growth treatments as Chemo Therapy patients because it "worked for them" ??????????? Does that sound WRONG to anybody??? Maybe its just me.

Everybody has the right to choose true, but still its good to have the facts (both good and bad) in order make a good decision.

And true anybody has the right to do what they want, but because I actually care about my sisters I feel the need (at times) to address certain topics. An "educated" debate is good for the soul.

AND I would NOT be using Monkey B** Sweat regardless of HOW MANY CONVINCING CLEAR FOTKI pictures I SAW. lol

I know, I know.... everybodys different though...

I agree with YOU Netta on this one. There are a lot of things that are not good for us. But education is a wonderful thing! When you find out the truth about things, you can use this info to make changes. So my thing right now in my life is, little by little, to eliminate things that I see that may harm ppl. I know I'm gonna have to go someday but if I can cut things out that may help me live a little longer I will. Saying "we're killing ourselves anyway" is a bit morbid and a lame excuse in my opinion. I know we're all gonna die but chances are if you smoke, drink, eat ham hocks everyday never get up off your couch then maybe, just maybe, you will die a little sooner than me. *And I'm excluding all accidents and things like that..*

In any case, folks can use what they want to use. I'm not gonna try to convince anyone about what's wrong with what they are doing cause we are all different and have different beliefs. I just won't buy any Monkey B** sweat ... :D

I knew by reading this title that you'd get a ton of views. I also knew that you wouldn't be posting some crazy product that would give 3" in 3 days ;)

The 1st day that I came to LHCF my main focus was to grow long hair. My main focus now is health OVERALL!!! No monkey sweat for me.

No, monkeys carry the AIDs virus.
You know this reminds me of a thread a few months back that was on skin care and how some woman had rubbed the first mornings pee and in some cases newborn pee on their faces and it cleared up their skin problems. I had actually seen the newborn one done. Can't say I remember the results-but then someone made the comment 'what next, do do hair masks to grow hair' and that comment had me rolling! :lachen:  :lachen:

No one is saying go grab a monkey straight out of africa to rub its butt on your head.

Of course I believe its important to educate yourself in the matter and not just....."Monkey see;Monkey do " if you will. Although, I am intelligent enough to know that the only way to truly educate yourself is by "trial and error", "experimenting and experiencing". If your talkin about reading other peoples work and studies........you're just doing a modified version of what I call....."Monkey read: Monkey believe".

All i'm sayin is.....(rollin my neck and snappin my finger)....we need to learn to think outside of the box.
There are cures for cancer, diabetes, baldness ect. out there....right under our noses, but most of us will never know what they are, b/c its not accepted by society simply since there isn't enough literature on it and a Medical Doctor isn't backing its claims.

Take the FDA for instance, I know you dont think the FDA is pro health? They want us to stay sick and dependent on expensive meds that don't cure a damn thing so they can make money. And THEY are the ones educating us, brainwashing us into thinking that its ok only if they say it is.

Yes smoking may lead to cancer, but a nonsmoker may develop cancer too. My point here is that none of us can live in a bubble.....and I dont intend to live my life trying to avoid all possible risk factors (what kinda life is that?).

And the comment about whats the point of long hair if you're sick or dead..........: My point is that we should not be so scurred to step outside the boundries of what is acceptable by society. I mean, where would we be if Rosa Parks, Malcolm X, or Martin Luther King didn't try something different from what was acceptable? Sure, it cost the latter two their lives, but it was a step in the right direction to deviate from the norm and to change how our brothers and sisters were treated.......and if you are soooooo concerned with your brothas and sistas, you would put your own head at risk.

I don't know about you, but some of the best cures for colds, chicken pox, burns, and pimples came from my greatgrandparents who didn't have documented evidence.

I respect and appreciate everyones point of view and I'm not tryin to push my open-mindedness on anyone, but I just wanted to let you all know were I'm coming from.

Have a great day :)

When I saw this thread I wrote it off as another quick growth scam, but asz you can see I eventually opened it up. Glad I did! I would love for my hair to grow faster, but I don't really believe in any of the gimmicks. The farthest I've gone (and intend to go) is a multi vitamin, and MTG (and that was a stretch).

Hey thanks for your view, lol. There will be no neck popping or finger snapping in my post to you :0).

First of all I'd like to say that you are right about the fact that no one is saying 'go grab a monkey straight out of africa to rub its butt on your head', at least not YET. You never know what the new trend could be a couple years from now, lol.

And Yes everyone has a different method of determining if a product or growth routine works for them. Some people will do trial and error, which is fine if it works for them. There are a few things that "I" personally wouldn't even TRY OUT in my HAIR, i.e gasoline, monkey B** sweat exc. IMO somethings are just too dangerous (FOR ME) to play with, for the sake of GROWTH. Not really paying attention to what you put in your hair can be risky business for your hair and your body. WE could ALL use a little more education. And one of the purposes of this site is to educate EACH OTHER. I mean I'm sure most of the Vets on here would agree that although we desire more length our own health should not be compromised.

And NO one is saying live your life in a bubble. I said
"The more we are informed the more the door opens for us to make more informed decisions about our hair." Its good to know the good and bad news about a product.....then perhaps that would help your brain to choose what might be best for YOU. I know some people don't care about making rational decisions, but its still nice to see both sides of the coin for those of us that DO. I don't know about you, but I'm not trying to send myself to an early grave and HELP life kick me in the butt. Its important to take risks, but its even more important to use wisdom. The people in our history took risk I'm sure knowing full well the Consequences...... they put there neck out for a greater cause.....I'm talking about HAIR.

For me its not about doing things that are acceptable to society (HELLO I"M A "HAPPY" NAPPY) however; its about reading and understanding what we're putting in our heads and unveiling the lies that society has been spoon feeding us for years.... As I said earlier (in a nutshell)......we are so quick to believe what society says is the holy grail product, w/o having the facts FIRST. And yes I'm concerned about my sisters thats why this topic was started I don't have to play the martyr in order to get my point across.

And Don't even get me started on the FDA, I know they have issues too. But thats a whole 'nother topic all together.

I know that there are some strange old school to solutions to current problems....But if they cause other health problems thats where its a concern for me.

Thanks for your input I appreciate your point of view too.

What if it could be satisfactorily proven that the sweat collection techniques were not only harmless to the monkey, but pleasurable AND FDA approved? What if it was regulated by the government or PETA to make sure animal poaching did not occur? Think of all the jobs that would be created.

Would ya try it then? huh? huh? would ya?

disclaimer: No unpure thoughts about monkeys or their sweat occurred during the typing of this post :look:
