NEW GROWTH PER MONTH!! HOW DO YOU MEAUSURE UP?

I just have a quick question. Some of you say that you have a 1/2" a month or 1" or whatever. I want to know if when you are saying a month are you counting it as 4 weeks? Because I know I have spoke to some and they say I get an inch a month but touch up every 8 weeks and they say they have an inch of new growth every time they touch up. Meaning then you are only really getting a 1/2" a month not an inch. Cause 8 weeks is 2 months. (Ok I hope I didn't confuse anyone). Anyway are we really measuring the growth in 4 weeks which would be a month or what?

I usually measure in between each relaxer which is more like 5-6 weeks (though i am now bordering on eight) and I usually have about the length from my fingertip to the first joint, which is I think about 3/4 of an inch. I think that's pretty average for a month and a half. Keeping it though is another problem...

I usually get about 1/2 every 4-5 weeks, my hair growth is pretty normal, seems SLOW to me though.
