Good Morning Guys:
I am excited...I have joined and it has taken me two days to get in touch with paypal. Needless to say, I have joined and here now and sooooooo
excited..

I am a newbie...I have started my lil notebook of notes and have tons of questions. I hope I don't work everyone nerves with my questions.

anyhow, I found out about your sight through someone off of myspace. I currently have braids in my hair that I am taking out next week. My hair is in bad shape I will be taking pictures next week to and start my journal.

I was wearing the weave and my hair had got healthy and started letting people fool in my hair and it feel out so about six months ago I cut it all off wore the weaves and got braids about a two months ago. I haven't had a perm in the front of my hair for about two months. My goal is to wear my hair natural to about the end of July. Just want it to breathe. My first question is should I put the braids back in or just put the weave back in? My issue with the braids is my edges are real thin...What can I do about that?

I have also purchased MSM powder and Biotin..I have started taking yesterday. I am taking one teaspon of MSM powder in Milk..Can i do that? Is that to much or to little?

With me taking a multi-vitamin, MSM powder and biotin-is that ok? I am not overdosing am I?

A sista in need of help..
I think that is all I am going to ask for now..
But I will be back..

Thanks guys..:)

Oh yeah-How do I figure out what my hair type is?

I haven't had a perm in my sides and back area in about six-seven months. It's been about two months or more for my bang area. I don't have color in my hair..

So If someone could help me with finding out my hair type..

thanks

Thanks Tara G and hopefully, I won't get to crazy buying everything in the hair store..

I need to take these braids out and get the pictures up so I can get some help and ADVICE...

 Hi, I don't know it all, but I will share what I do know.

If you go to the home page of the site and click on the tab "hair type" it has explainations on the different types of hair textures and types.

Next,

How are you putting the weave in your hair? Are you getting it sewn in or glued in? I would not advise glueing your hair in, especally around those edges, it could cause alot more breakage. If you are sewing it in make sure it is not in too tight and take out each month to let your scalp breathe and to cleanse.

I found it very easy to transition to natural by wearing braids, that way you did not have to deal with two textures of hair. (relaxed and natural) If you use the search function there are many threads on transitioning to natural and good products to use.

I hope that you find what you are looking for here and good luck on your natural journey!

Welcome here. :)

Welcome! You will get great tips here. Use the search, also, cause we have a lot of great threads that cover the basics.

Awe,I feel so special thanks guys...

Well I am going to use the forum and bug the hell out of everyone..:D
I am determined and will get to where I want to be..

To answer some of the questions-

Hopeg80-I will get the weave sewn in..My only concern is I am taking
my current braids out this week. My edges are rough so I think I am going to let them rest and try to rebuild it until the end of July and get the braids back in and take of them. I will follow some of the regimes I have seen on the forum. I think you are right about the two textures.

Bre-Bre-I love your picture and your hair is so cute..I love the length and the style u have in it..U go girl...

Vevster-Thanks for the welcome..

I am going to search the forum now for some advice on my edges..

first off let me say: DON'T PUT THE BRAIDS OR WEAVE BACK IN YOUR HAIR until it's a lot stronger!! just do regular deep conditioning treatments to get your hair back into shape and you'll be on your way. btw welcome!

Welcome aboard- make sure that you are moisturizing/shampooing/conditioning your hair while it is in the weave and give your problem areas TLC.

I'm crying now:eek:
I was taking my braids out yesterday and one of the braids took my hair out in the front. Undid the braid and out came the hair..It's on my edges-I just don't know what to do.I am getting stressed..

My hair is crazy looking..I have posted some questions and can't even find them...LOL

I think I need to go back home and get in the bed..

But thanks for the welcomes...
