and i'm not sure how to feel about that!!!

i dried my hair in 8 fat twists today; the first time i didn't set it or blow-dry it since my relaxer 2 saturdays ago.

tell me why it feels like i have about 1/3" of new growth in some places, but in others, it's still slick straight?

relaxed heads (preferably bone straight).... have you noticed this, too?

I just applied my MT like five minutes ago. I have been doing in religiously for a month and a half. I am considering relaxing but I can't tell whether I need it or not! Just like you, in some spots I have new growth and in others my hair looks like it just got relaxed. And even where there is new growth, its soft! But I haven't relaxed since April/May and my hair is getting thiiiiiiiiiick and nappy. I can't tell if its growing in this condition!:wallbash:

is ... this normal? i mean, i relaxed bone straight 2 saturdays ago. less than 2 weeks ago. and already 1/3" of unstretched new growth?

i should add that i only put it on my scalp... maybe i fat-fingered in some places, and let it sit on my hair?

Trust me, your hair is growing! Your hair would grow without Mega-Tek or Ovation Cell Therapy.

Folx got to understand that the majority of us have more than one hair type/pattern on our heads and the growth will show up differently across your head.

It's happened. :yep:

yea MT makes your hair grow. nothing can revert your relaxer its permanent HTH

heavy protein can partially revert the relaxing process. not fully, but it can throw texture reminicent of your natural curl pattern back into your relaxed hair. i know first hand. (i had an incident with heavy aphogee protein treatment 2 days after relaxing)

this is because relaxers remove the protein in your hair... when you add it back in large doses, the new protein fills in the gaps (so to speak) where the old protein was removed.

When I started using MT I didn't believe it either!! At 4wks. post I was clawing my way thru sooo much ng!! I thought it was reverting also, but I know better than this, so I checked my comparison pics, and it was growing:yep: and yes in some places more than others. I even posted a thread on uneven growth. However I do feel like it's balancing out. By my 7th wk. I could barely get to my scalp to apply it. I started using OCT about 3wks ago, alternating wk. to wk. with MT, And I don't know if it's just me , but the week I'm using MT I seem to be feeling ng sooner. I know it's suppose to be the other way around, OCT is suppose to grow hair faster, but all I have to say is BELIEVE GIRL BELIEVE!!!!:lachen:

good point. :yep:

n thanks y'all. i need to start BELIVIN in the MT!
no wonder i had to relax at 7.5 weeks this time around. i had SOOO much hair!! and usually i can truck along til 11 or 12 weeks.

and that was when i was applying it sporadically! i've been using every night for the past month and a half... no wonder i'm seeing results!

That's cute how you thought it was reverting your hair and not growing it...
I guess you still had a bit of skepticism...
so... seeing is believing... no???

But is it actually new growth or the regimen making the hair just curly at the root? I can't tell the freakin difference!:wallbash:
