I think I've been shedding more, but it might be because I am 3 months+ post relaxer. I have no plans to relax soon, as I'm almost sure that I will go ahead and transition.
Beana, Giove more info about this Garlic shampoo. I know you mentioned it before, but at the time I wan't paying attention. Lazy old me, I want answers FAST! But seriously, what brand, and where to buy it?
I'm shedding more than usual. I'm a natural shedder anyway, but now hairs come off when I lightly tug or run my finger through. Normally, it takes more manipultion than this. I get nervous, cause about 10 years ago I had a bad bout with dermatitis and lost a great deal of hair before I got it under control. My derm recommended no more perms, with worked, but I'm not good w/transitioning and didn't want to chop. I don't want to have that again.
Nutrine Garlic Shampoo is the answer. There is also Nutrine Garlic Conditioner. They work well together. Comes in scented and unscented. The poo is a bit drying so I follow with a moisturizing conditioner.
melodee, the brand is Nutrine and I use the scented
shampoo because i figure its more potent. I lather once with this shampoo, concentrating on the scalp. then rinse and lather with a conditioning/ moisturizing shampoo.
As debyjay noted, it can be very drying to the hair. I only do this 1x weekly and i dont use this for more than 2 months as a 1st lather, i'm too scared it'll zap my hair of moisture
My stylist said it is normal in the wintertime to have shedding. The best thing to do is to comb it all out at once. Letting loose hairs remain entagled with the rest only makes the shedding seem worse. I got a nice shampoo scrub and comb out and just didn't look at the comb when my stylist did my hair. It's not shedding today.
