Hmmmmm, I lovedddd my short relaxed hair. Loved it! And miss it from time to time. That would be the ONLY reason for me if I ever decided to go back to relaxers. But when I see my hair thrive as a natural, I am in loveeee with my hair. Its the healthiest, the best it ever was when I am natural, no doubt. But I miss styles. I cannot lie about that.

ITA with the above: I LOOOOVED my short cut and to me, it only works with a relaxer, so if and/or when I decide to go short again, best believe I will be slapping that "creamy crack" back in my hair. I never say never...ever. But right now? I like my hair, even though it's at an awkward length :look:

I don't believe I ever would. I like my hair how it is. Just a preference thing. I just moved from Detroit to Seattle. It's been raining 90% of the time that I've been here. If I'm caught in a down pour I'm good b/c my hair isn't gonna look much different when it dries LOL

It's crazy because I had a friend who went natural and actually works for carol's daughter but she relaxed her hair after her mom was chastising her about how she was going to wear her hair for graduation .... now she's regretting it and is transitioning again

me personally, I've been relaxed for the majority of my life and now that I'm natural I can say there is absolutely nothing I miss about my relaxed hair.

Absolutely not -- I have no plans to EVER return to a relaxer. I LOVE my natural hair and the bigger and fluffier it gets, the deeper I fall in love with it. My curls and coils fit me and my big personality. I am beyond joyful with my natural hair.

No.

I never had any serious problems with relaxers when I did and I had "healthy," long hair, but I still would never go back to them.

I prefer my hair natural in every season of my life.

My relaxed hair ALWAYS looked a hot mess :gotroasted: unless i was straight out of the salon - it only lasted for that day.

Going natural, I was forced to take care of my hair, and it may not be much, but it looks so much better and healthier than my relaxed hair :nono:. heck - i didn't even own shampoo and conditioner when i was relaxed (i used salon brand when i went to the salon to get my hair washed) - and my tender scalp and "hard hair" were not friends with the relaxer. the relaxers wouldn't take (or would take but revert after a month) and I got scalp burns. :barf:

nope. natural.
and it has more thickness and hold, so i can style it :spinning:.
natural forever!

I like your siggy it takes me back to childhood days!

I won't lie I have been tempted to texturize slightly but the more got confidant in managing and styling my natural hair and seeing how fast it grew and how thick and healthy the urge passed. Besides I had a terrible time w relaxers no matter what it damaged my hair and burned my scalp most times and the worst my hair was thin and lifeless I never had that thick bouncy relaxed hair.

The only reason I would texturize would be fo shrinkage and hats not enough of a reason for me to go through all that again I can get curl definition and hang from products and length.

now that i think about it, its a possibilty as my hair gets longer. i liked the way my natural hair looked when it was short. it doesnt look as cute as it gets longer. i have this corbin bleu thing going on and i HATE IT.

I love Corbin Bleu he's like my hair sibling!

I meant to say no...voted yes by accident.
the chemical from relaxer made my hair break so bad and my hair has never been able to retain so much growth

I'm staying natural. If I want to straighten my hair I can use my flat iron or my Maxiglide. I really enjoy being free of salons, free of that burning sensation on my scalp, and free of smelling the relaxer and the neutralizing shampoo.

I dont feel like my natural hair is a statement or anything, it was just something to do. I feel like I cant get some of the styles I want because of it, and I spend the same amount of time at the shop than I did before, maybe more. Other people care more about it than I do. I Just havent gotten a relaxer because it would feel like I wasted 3 1/2 years of not getting one.

I will NEVER ever go back to relaxing my hair.:nono: Not only does the practice go against everything I now stand for, but it is not necessary for achieving the straight style. With all the knowledge and tools we have today, it just doesn't make any sense to me..:perplexedI feel like all the women who have discovered the 'hair world' (for lack of a better word) on the internet have no excuse when it comes to why they still relax, but at the same time, it is argued to just be a "preference" which is understandable as well..i mean it's your hair you can do what you want! I just really hope that one day we can all understand, what kind of impact simply styling ones hair can have on the people around us, and our communities at large. Once we can collectively understand this, the answer to this question should be one which reflects a true homogeneous group. :yep:..one day we'll get there!

My answer would be no. I have NO plans to relax again. Simply because the relaxer was not good to my hair for all those years I had it - awful experience. I do plan to wear my hair straightened ever so often; just without the help of a relaxer.
