...I am looking for those tea bags you can use so that I can just steep these powders in hot water.

Does anyone know where to get the tea bags?

I buy my tea bags from http://www.mountainroseherbs.com

They're actually cotton muslin bags:

I noticed it after the fact when I bought it too. I have seen a few other brands of amla but the one that seems to be most widely used by LHCF'ers is Dabur. I know that's the one that DLewis uses and we all know what hair looks like:lol:! Unless you have an extreme adversity to mineral oil I wouldn't worry to much. It is still quite moisturizing inspite of the the mineral oil.

I finally bought some amla oil. I plan to use it tonight. I also got some vatika shampoo.
How do you like the Vatika poo?

The vatika poo is the bomb. I love it. Definately a staple. It smells really good and a little bit goes a long way. Plus, it didn't dry my hair out.

Ok, after reading this thread, word for word…. I could not wait to run out and buy the amla oil. I found some Internet sources that sell it but I was hoping to first find it at one of our local Indian grocery stores. I am glad I waited because the store I went to this afternoon sold the Dabur Amla Hair Oil, 500 ml for only $4.99 when I found the same one for $6.99 and $7.99, plus paying and waiting for shipping. Like always I went hog wild in buying hair products. However when I smelled this amla oil I remember I used to use it on my natural hair back in 1999. I did not like the loud stinky smell but I hung in there for at least 2 bottles worth and threw the extra bottles away. A white man from work told me about it and how he loved how soft his hair was from using it. So I stuck it out as long as I could. I did not know then how much it must have helped my hair cause it was VERY healthy back then and man did I have thick hair. Then again I was 8 years younger too.

In addition I bought Ancient Formula Coconut Perfumed Hail Oil (smells yummy), and Dabur Jasmine Hair Oil (smells yummy too). After hearing my husband rant and rave about the awful smell of the amla oil I put these other two on to sweeten up the sent. Now I have about a pound of oil like Soul Glow Jerry Curl Juice (from Coming To America movie) After putting on the oils, I sprayed a little water on my twists and now I am sitting under my hooded steamer for 1 hour. My hair shrank from the water and moisture of the steamer and it feels soft but I have to get the excess oil off somehow. This treatment I am doing is just my “in between poo” care so I am done for the night. And I always sleep on my satin pillow cases.

Because of the odd smell of the amla oil I think I will only use it when I know I will be washing or co-washing right afterwards. I will use the other two new oils for the other times.

By the way I also bought some mustard oil and coconut oil from the Indian store. I got this because and West Indian lady I work with told me when she was a girl in India every Sunday her mother would work those two oils on her scalp and hair. She said her hair was beautiful back then. Now she says that she uses only American hair products and has grey hair and does not look well to her. She has just been in America too long and has gotten way from what is most healthy. Interesting don’t you think? But of course the mustard oil stinks like all out doors. So again I will have to use it ONLY when I know I will be pooing right after.
