Well recently it has been Miss Jessie's Rapid Recovery, which I love! Once or twice a month I will use cholesterol and oil and make a little cocktail out of it.
I put olive oil on my hair the night before I shampoo. Then I use Aveda Damage Remedy shampoo and the Aveda Damage Remedy Intensive Restructuring Treatment.
these are my staple products.
My beautician rollersets me, and then she blows out my roots!!
(I love it when people think I have a relaxer in my hair and I have been au natural since last December!!)
I do a hot oil treatment, and then shampoo with redken smooth down, deep condition with either redken conditoner or butter treat and I add Giovanni 50/50 balance or Giovanni Smooth as Silk Conditioenr. and Then I do an ACV and let it airdry in braids or blowdry and then flat iron, oh I forgor I always add honey to my DC, so my hair can shine when I'm done, The Redken and Giovanni makes my hair more managable and soft...
I use the ORS replenishing pak, or Pantene Relaxed and Natural Breakage Defense deep conditioner. Just recently I've started using the Miss Jessi's rapid recovery treatment and I really like that one too - but I haven't straightened afterwards, just natural styles.
Thanks everyone! Are there anymore ideas out there? I'm supposed to be waiting until June to straighten but my hair is getting so long (well it looks like its at a length I wouldn't mind when I stretch it) and I am getting the straightening bug. I deep conditioned with my favorite conditioner dessert essence organics italian grape and I spiked it with olive oil and honey under heat for about an hour and my hair felt so moisturized I realized that this was the missing link in my poor straightening sessions. I wanna buy a new flat iron or hot comb first though.
I do a honey/olive oil DC. Then I do a sour cream and lemon DC or coconut milk and limes. It takes the frizz out and really stretches/relaxes the hair. It takes a lot of work out of straightening. See fotki for recipe and instructions.
