Naturals who press--What temperature?

Hello everyone,

I finally decided to go natural. I did two BCs. About four weeks ago, I cut my shoulder length hair to chin length. And about 2 weeks ago I did a mini BC from chin to ear length and braided up my hair. I will probably take my braids out in another couple of weeks and rebraid it. However, I am so excited to be natural and may start pressing it as early as mid-summer or September.

So naturals ...at what temperature do you press your hair? I was interested in getting a ceramic stove that could warm up the pressing comb instead of doing it the traditional way.

The Gold n' Hot stove said that it would reach and stay at 460 degrees. Is this a good temperature? (I'm just alittle cautious because when I was relaxed I used the flat iron that was not temperarture controlled --it was ceramic though---and it did damage my ends alittle.

TIA

When I flatiron a piece to check length, I use it at 170C and it got it pretty straight. I think it's 460F, no? About 237-238 celsius.
