Hey Natchals!

I have a question. (HELLLLLLP)

I want to get my hair trimmed but here is my dilemma. I have alot of different textures and fine to medium density strands... which is fine when I let shrinkage do it's thing but when I do a blow out (without alot of patting and random manipulation) ......:nono:

My crown is weird. It has crazy waves and although it's very coarse, it straightens out pretty easy which makes it stand up beyond the rest of my hair when I blow out. I know that a way around this is to either wear it shrunken, 3-P (pat, pack, and pull) like crazy, or do a twist out so it's not as noticeable

:look: ~BUT~ :look:

When I get ready for a trim, how should the trim be done so that all of the hair is even? I'm not quite comfortable with doing my own just yet and since I want it a bit more rounded should I go to a barber or just hold off and keep doing what I've been doing?

you could flatiron, blowout or twist and snip the ends. If you want a more even look you will have to cut the back more & the front less but that will have to be a gradual process. Hth.

Well, when I got the rest of my relaxer cut off, she cut it in layers, and the first time I washed it, I found that the cut worked whether my hair is straight or natural and everything in between. i think that layers, long or short, will work out that way for the most part...it may be less "perfect" looking but it will probably look good and you can play around to get the look you want.
I think that a good cut will be fine if it is really a good cut.

I would straighten it and then trim it. You could also twist it and snip off the ends but this may not be as accurate. If you don't wear your hair straight often it won't matter.
