Naturals that Straighten...

It seems this always happens to me as well. After I flat iron, I trim my ends if unhealthy ,then I seal with castor oil, then pincurl my hair until the next day. I do this every night and it usually helps. However, I still can't get my ends bone straight. BTW I use a maxiglide. I'm thinking of investing in a Chi or Sedu. I had my hair straighten with a chi once and my ends were very silky:drunk:.
I don't know if any of this helps but good luck :look:

Before i flat iron should i blow dry or press to get ends str8 before i straighten

1) You could do any of the following: Blow dry, roller set, part hair into braided sections and sit under a hood to dry, or braid/rollerset and airdry. Then flat iron. I would NOT PRESS and then flat iron :nono:

2) If your ends are not straightening and looking frizzy and fuzzy- they are probably damaged and split and need to be trimmed. It's possible to get them straight, but not as straight as healthy ends get and your overall flat iron will not look as smooth or as neat.

Here is an excellent video for flat ironing natural hair:

There are several threads on here for straightening natural hair- a quick search should yield you many results. Good luck!

I have straightened once and I recommend blowdrying using a good heat protectant, followed with flat ironing bone straight and then curling the hair last with the flat iron or a good curling iron on high heat if you have natural hair (I don't recommended heat on a regular basis, but when I do use heat I want the best results possible)That's what has worked for me so far:)

I have two really good flat irons that I don't use. One is a Hot Tools ceramic and one is a GVP titanium from Sally's. They got my hair really straight except for the ends. The only iron that smoothed my ends was the MaxiGlide using the teeth.

The only way I can get my hair super straight is if I rollerset my hair first.

Buying a Chi has made a huge difference too. I used to straighten with a $25 Revlon flatiron and after a while it just wasn't cutting it anymore. The Chi is the only styling tool that gets my hair super straight.

I've noticed that when I blowdry or press first my hair actually reverts faster or is frizzier :perplexed many its just me and my methods, but what helps for me and just simply sealing my hair with castor oil and twisting my hair after I wash it and let it airdry. I then undo each twist section and flat iron it in parts. I don't use heat protectant  because I never flat iron (I know *spank spank*:wallbash:), but usually this method for me gets the ends pin straight.

The flat iron does not get my ends straight. I very rarely straighten my hair now, and when I do it's after a fresh trim, so split ends aren't the problem. I can only get my ends straight using a pressing comb.

I think I need teeth to get my ends straight, so I probably need to invest in a maxiglide. I'm being cheap though because I don't straighten often.
