I am a 4a natural. My hair is 9.5-10 ins and very thick, approx 2.5 in from bra strap last time I measured (Feb 07). Hopefully it will be at bra strap in June.
Right now I'm in braids and I plan to take them down the end of May or mid June.
I wash and condish 2x weekly with keracare moisturizer poo and condish.
I use Aussie 3min reconstructor once a week.
Afterwards I used my mn concoction until I jumped on the BT wagon and I love the way that stuff smells, still waiting for my 3 inches in 3 days growth spurt though :p I only trim a couple times a year, I prob shud do it more often. I also color my hair every 3 mons due to grey hairs popping up like they own real estate over here. Ready to try henna.

I'm 4a/b, APL.
My routine is extremely simple. I keep my hair in about 10-12 large twists and gather them into one french braid. I conditioner wash in twists at least once a week sometimes twice with cheap Suave or Vo5 or Herbal Essence. I redo twists after every 4 or 5 conditioner washes (about every two weeks) one at a time, finger detangling as I go then french braid the fat twists (takes about 30 minutes) and wear a half wig over daily with a tiny amount of hair in front to blend in. Maybe once a week I put Lenzi's request on scalp on wash days cuz I like the smell.

4b. close to armpit.
i wash once a week.
right now i'm using suave daily clarifying shampoo.
garnier fructis curl & shine conditioner.
i put my hair in two braids when washing with shampoo.
when i put conditioner in my hair, i comb my hair with conditioner in it and then put my hair in 4 braids after combing it out.
i rinse the conditioner out while my hair are still in the 4 braids, and then i put shea butter on each section and let airdry.

Hair type 3c...
  1. Wet hair in shower, apply conditioner (Tresemme, Pantene, or whatever is on hand)
  2. Finger comb with conditioner
  3. Put my hair in a single braid
  4. Rinse
  5. Apply KemiOyl or Emu Oil to hair and ends
  6. Apply gel, slick back in ponytail or hair clip
  7. Undo braid and I'm done :)

ETA: I clarify with poo 1-2 times a month...

I am a cottony 4B

I am really on the Ayurvedic challenge I created for myself.

Using all the different oils, and pastes for my hair. Also have some Indian shampoo and shampoo bars for clarifying hair.

I use Suave as a cowash and add in oils or brewed teas from the powders like Amla, Bringhgaj, etc.

I am doing protective styles, bagging or hide your hair this year. My goal is that after Dec. 2007 I will no longer buy any more hair or wigs, but I have the option to change my mind!

I am trying to keep it simple but yet still keep the creative side in me happy with changes. The only change up I have is making my homemade spritz and bagging cream moisturizer and what I use for my cowashes.

My leave ins are - Elucence, Trader Joes, Afro Detangler or a homemade spritz

Everything else is Ayurvedic in nature.

I cowash at least 2x a week
Deep condition and/or Aphogee or Henna every 4-6 weeks

My regimen changes every week just about! :lachen:

My hair type: fine/thin strands, very tightly coiled, kinky, frizzy, wiry, and densely compacted!

My regimen that I've been thinking about doing:  Shampoo and condition once a week. Spray leave-in. Rollerset my hair on jumbo rollers. Once airdried, take out rollers, fluff my hair, and wear it in a puff!

When I'm lazy, I just co-wash everyday and wear a coily fro.

I alternate between 3 shampoos: Creme of Nature, Sunsilk Black Shine, & JASON Naturals Biotin. I co-wash and condition my hair with Aussie Moist Conditioner. I just leave it on for a few minutes while I shower my body. My leave-in is Infusium 23. I just started using this and it stops breakage in its tracks! I moisturize with either distilled water or BB Oil Hair Lotion Moisturizer with Castor Oil and Aloe.

I usually wash my hair once a week. When I wash I use Aveda Detoxifier. It's a clarifying shampoo. I use this because I have itchy scalp/buildup moreso than the average person so I prefer to clarify very often.

After washing with that I twist my hair into 5-8 big twists and deep condition with Aveda Deep Penetrating Conditioner. I will either leave it on for 5 mins. in the shower, or put a shower cap on and leave it on for 30 mins. Then I rinse out and apply Lekair Cholesterol to detangle with. I use a paddle brush to detangle my hair, one twist at a time in the shower under the running water. This is the only time I ever comb my hair.

Then I condition with Aveda Brilliant. I finish it off by applying Aveda Elixir leave-in and seal in that moisture with a little bit of coconut oil.

I brush my hair back into a ponytail before I get out the shower. I use a scrunchie to hold it back.

I always sleep with a satin scarf on at night and I never comb my hair when dry!!

I have a spray bottle that contains 1 part Aveda Elixir and 1 part water in it. This is my moisturizer that I use for daily moisture (I spray it onto my bun).

My hair type is pretty much 3C and I wear a wash and go 90% of the time.

I co wash daily with anything from Suave Tropical Coconut, VO5 Tea Therapy, Trader Joe's Nourish, Aubry Organics White Camellia, or Elucence MBC. I wet my hair, apply the conditioner of choice, then twist up and put on a shower cap. I detangle with my fingers or a wide tooth comb, then rinse. I workout alot and sweat in my hair so I rinse my hair after a workout.

I Shampoo once a week with Elucence, Curls Pure shampoo, Aubry Organics Honeysuckle Rose, or Devacurl Low Poo. Depending on the poo will follow up with Elucence MBC, AO Honeysuckle Rose, or Devacurl One Condition.

For styling I typically apply a leave in conditioner. My favs are Giovanni Direct Leave in, Curls Milkshake, Cantu Shea Butter Leave in, MOP Leave in, Garnier Curl n Shine. I like to rotate.

If I decide to use a styling product I rotate between Smooth n Shine curl activator gel, Curls Whipped Cream, Kinky Curly Curling Custard, Miss Jessies Curly Pudding. I typically don't layer

I've just started adding coconut oil back into my routine and I add that to the ends before my leave in or styler.

I get mt hair trimmed every 3 months and rarely use heat.

I'm 3c/4a
  • I usually co-wash everyday. The conditioners I use are Trader Joes Nourishing spa, Aubrey Honey Sucklerose and my new one that I am in love with  Nature's Gare Mandarin Orange and Patchouli. I choose the conditioner I use depending on how I want my hair to look and feel or how I am going to wear it.
  • Then I slightly towel dry
  • I add Jamaica Cactus and Lime leave in
  • Then I apply a styling product. The one I use the most is Cantu Shea Butter leave in. Sometimes I use Elasta QP feels like silk gel or Aubrey B5 gel and coconut oil
  • I shampoo with Aubrey GPB Shampoo when I feel my hair needs it.
  • I occasionaly clarify with Apple Cider Vinegar and Water or a clarifying shampoo
