4b, collar bone length, last use of heat to straighten 7-05.
Suave professional Humectress shampoo and Conditioner once a week. (friday after work)
Wash with twists in place.
Dry overnight
Gently untwist when dry, finger comb loose shed hairs.
Retwist using QP Mango butter. ( 2 to 3 hours )
Wear in twisty bun to work daily.
Every three or four weeks do twist out for two days.
Deep clean with clarifying shampoo once a month and re-part, really comb out shed hairs with comb, and re-twist.

The most important thing, satin cap and pillowcase. Nappy hair must not have cotton and lint. This causes tangles which can not be undone and must be cut!!

It is working pretty well for me. Jeve

Wash and DC once a week. Wear protective styles. I'm a 4a and I use Nexxus Therappe and Humectress, and ORS Replenishing Condish.

My hair type is 4a and i copied my regimen explanation from my fotki:

What I do to my hair is simple (I'm just long winded). I do my first lather when shampooing w/ ORS creamy aloe shampoo (b/c there's hard water where I am now), then I do the second lather w/ Porosity Control shampoo (been using this since before I was natural--it's amazing and detangles great). I finish w/ Dove Intense moisture conditioner (dark blue bottle). I detangle in the shower w/ a wide tooth comb and denman brush---while conditioner is in my hair.

After shampooing I put Garnier Fructis curl & shine leave-in conditioner while my hair is soaking wet (I don't towel dry), then seal the moisture in w/ jojoba oil on the ends of my hair. I don't comb my hair outside the shower (frizzes up my curls). Then usually I put my hair in a ponytail and tie a scarf over it (to help lay down the edges w/o a brush). I air dry.

I hope this is helpful for you.

My hair type is somewhere in the course, 3 range

I cowash my hair every day with strawberries and cream and comb lightly under the shower

I apply giovanni direct leave in to soaking wet hair and then i seal with coconut oil.

I shampoo whenever I feel like it, sometimes once a week or every 2 or 3 weeks is the norm.

Sometimes i substitute giovannie direct leave in for Aveda Be Curly or the Jamaican Mago and Lime Moisturizer

I use ORS Replenishing packs sometimes, but they don't do much for my hair. (I wish it was a leave in--SUPERB curl definition)

My Regime: I have done protective styling since 1999. I have tried extensions, micros once, and prior to that I used extensions and washed my hair daily in the extensions. I achieved good growth that way but lost it through medical traumas.
What my hair needs is maximum moisture, but it hates commercial moisturizers, liquid conditioners that contain glycerine and sprays and lotions with a passion.
Here is what works for my hair:

Prepoo deep condition with a mix of Lekair Cholesterol, 1 egg, added oil (EVO, Castor oil, Raw Hemp oil etc) and Rachette juice) well stirred. Leave conditioner on for 1-2 hours, then shampoo out with Salerm Wheatgerm and Honey shampoo or Nexxus Humectress shampoo. Rinse well and long and do not dry with towel. Let airdry till nearly dry. Takes my hair about 15 minutes because the strands are fine and lightweight.

I have a bottle of Homemade Detangler I call "My Jewel Detangler". Ingredients: Wildgrowth oil replica, to which I add generous amount of Shea Butter, Avocado oil, EVO, Emu oil ( to make it creamy) and Jojoba oil (to keep it from being oily) and this is fairly thick. I put a few drops in my hands and rub together and work it through my hair and then section and start the cornrows. Keeps the hair supple and moist. I add a little more of the detangler oil as I am braiding each cornrow. Takes about 1/2 hour. Tie with silk scarf. I do not take down or comb till washday. No brushing allowed! When I need a quick social remedy, I will wear one of my original hair cover designs or a hat.

3-5 times a week I apply homemade sulphur oil along the rows and baggy overnight or a couple hours a day, which ever is most convenient. Tie up with silk scarf. This is my regime for the year. I wear my hair in a French roll for special occasions only, otherwise it is back to back cornrows.

For those that are interested in making the Rachette Juice:
Rachette Juice: Pick the rachet and rinse off. Peel. Cut up the Rachet filet inside, place in water. Bring to boil. Remove from heat and cover till cool. Freeze in an old ice cube tray to make several treatments. When cubes are frozen, throw in a plastic freezer bag and use as needed by thawing out one cube at a time. One cube usually gets me three deep conditioning treatments plus a weeks supply of spray rinse, if I want to mix some with glycerine and honey.

For those who are interested in the copyrighted Sulphur Oil that I make for my own personal use:)
2006 Copyright: ©Mahalialee's My Jewel Hair Oil (I use Flowers of Sulphur...the yellow one. )
I take a 340 ml bottle and add the following oils: 3/4 part raw coconut oil (Islands); Remainder 1/4 oils divided as follows. Extra Virgin Olive oil, Pure Emu Oil, (from an emu farm), Palm nut Kernel Oil or Jamaican Black Castor Oil, and Jojoba oil to eliminate oiliness. Emu Oil gives it a creamy texture. Add to this 2 tbls. of the sulphur and shake well. Then I add a pinch of the herb, Jaborandi powder, Southerwood Powder and a pinch of quinine (pharmacy) powder. Let steep for a day before using. Always shake well before using. copyrighted.
Some of these herbs (Jaborandi, Southernwood))may not be available to you where you are at, but I order them from Penn Herbs in Pennsylvania.

My Detangling Hair Braiding & Moisturizing Oil

© 2006 Mahalialee’s My Jewel Hair Braiding Oil : ingredients: Sweet Almond Oil, Avocado Oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Lecithin, Emu Oil, Vitamin E Oil, Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil. copyrighted.(c)
Copied directly from my album

I do not use any brushes anymore for at least three months and only use comb when absolutely necessary to detangle after fingercombing. If I want my hair to lie smoothly in an updo, I apply Lily of the Valley Aloe Vera Gel to the sides and crown etc. by smoothing it over my strands, and then tie on a plastic scarf for an hour or two. Works better than any brush and does not disturb my waves. HTH bonjour

*Soak hair completely with water.
*apply conditioner (or shampoo rinse then apply conditioner if not doing a co -wash)
*let sit for 1-3 mins
*detangle with shower comb
*rinse hair, leaving in a little conditioner
* OPTIONAL: finger comb in some leave-in conditioner , or oil (I rarely do this, but when I do I use coconut oil or WGO (wild growth oil), Paul Mitchell, Matrix, or SunSilk leave-ins)
*let hair air dry.
I've found that the less I do to my hair, the better it seems to behave and grow.

3c/4a natural hair with no color (yet), 4 inches long.

I wet my hair daily and apply a moisturizer such as Aveda Elixir mixed with Be Curly or My Asha's Coco de leche

I wash my hair with shampoo once a week with either DevaCare No Poo or Elucence Moisture Balance

I condition wash (about 2 to 3 times a week) or condition after washing with shampoo with Elucence MBC or DevaCare One Condition (if I washed with DevaCare No Poo)

After I step out the shower I wrap my hair with a towel to soak up excess water b/c I HATE drippies. I then style with the IC Fantasia Gel (clear or blue container) by applying to the hair line and throughout my hair and brushing it back lightly w/ the 100% boar's head brush.

Right now I am boring I add a satin head band purchased at Claire's and call it a day once I add the gel for curl definition.

At night I remove the satin head band and wear a satin bonnet and add nothing to my hair (i.e. moisturizers, oil, etc.) and go to bed.

In the morning I wet again in the shower and start over again. I am growing my hair out so I keep it really simple.

I take no multis or "growth" enhancers. I let my hair just do its thing and leave it alone.

I always air dry my hair. I constantly leave wet stains on the back of the examination room table when I go for my weekly prenatal check ups where my head rested. LOL

I shampoo once or twice a week. The shampoo I currently use is Herbal Essence...the one for curly and wavy hair.
I follow up with the matching conditioner.
I cowash regularly with v05 strawberries n creme.
I try to clarify with Suave Daily Clarifying Shampoo once a month.

I don't really style my hair. I use the v05 conditioner as a leave-in, use a conditioning spray with the conditioner, rosemary eo, honey, and water, or use BB Oil Moisturizing Lotion with Castor Oil.

Then I'll put my hair in a bun or updo of some type.

i no-poo weekly (suave humectress/awapuhi or biobasics)
detangle in shower w/ hair saturated in conditioner (in braids skip this step)
rinse, squeeze extra moisture, blot w/ towel
apply moisture spray, botanical leave-in, sometimes seal w/ oil mix
air dry in twists or yarn braids
take vitamins/supplements daily
spray moisture on twists/braids daily

I co wash daily with my Herbal Essences Hello Hydration

I shampoo whenever I feel like my hair needs it (one or two times a week)

I put my BB Oil Moisturizer in my hair and that's it!

I don't have enough hair to style yet, so I let it be. I don't comb or brush it.

I DC every weekend with Pantene Intensive Moisturizing Mask with a little honey added.

That's about it.

I have no idea what my hair type is. Sorry.

Hair type = 4a
When I'm not in braids or twists, I usually do braidouts/twists outs.
I start with a pre-poo of shea butter, honey and castor oil. I sometimes add conditioner. I leave that on for 30 minutes under a plastic cap, then shampoo with Aveda sap moss or Aveda shampure, follow with Brilliant conditioner. I usually leave on for 30 minutes with a plastic cap and a warm towel. Every 3 washes I deep conditon with Aveda Deep Penetrating Hair Revitalizer. I detangle in the shower. Afterwards I add my leave in Aveda Elixir and moisturizer and a little oil. Let it dry about 50%, then twist or braid to wear a braidout or twistout.

Hair Type - 3c/4a

Routine:

I condition wash every night.

I shampoo about two times a week (maybe more depending on what the weather is doing, how active I've been, how funky my hair is, etc.).

I shake my hair dry or lightly towel dry.

I add a creamy leave-in or oil moisturizer and let my hair air dry in a couple of ponytails.

I take the ponytails down and style the following morning.

I always comb with a wide-toothed comb and I never use a brush.

I never straighten my hair.

It's extremely rare that I use a blow dryer to dry my hair.

I don't do protein treatments. They harden my hair way too much.

I don't use products with high amounts of glycerin, such as curl activators. They make my hair go totally haywire.

Products:

In constant rotation - Tresemme Vitamin E Moisture-Rich conditioner, Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special Shampoo. African Royale Miracle Oil Moisturizer

Current favorites:

Cholesterol conditioners from LeKair and Lustrasilk, Silk Elements Megasilk Leave-In creme, Silk Elements Revive & Restore Hair Repair Creme

I cowash my hair with Suave conditioner every morning. I use Fantasia IC Gel and seal it with an oil like coconut oil or jojoba oil.

I try to deep condition once every week, but that hasn't been happening lately. I never shampoo my hair since it makes it dry, but I do use baking soda to clarify my hair.

Also, almost every night I oil my scalp and the ends of my hair with either Vatika oil, coconut oil, or jojoba oil or a mixture of all of them.

My hair is 4b 9-11 inches long. My routine consists of:

1) wash with either Cream of Nature Shampoo or Suave Clarifying Shampoo if I have a lot of buildup. A stylist used Elucence on my hair and it worked wonderfully, so I'm going to switch as soon as I can get my hands on a bottle.

2) Deep condition w/ Aphogee Protein Reconstructor mixed with shea butter and olive or coconut oil

3) Rinse and detangle with a thick conditioner mixed with castor oil. I detangle my hair in sections and twist up each section to keep it detangled.

4) Rinse and apply castor oil mixed with coconut oil to damp hair

5) style in either braids or twists. Twists last between 2-4 weeks, braids last up to two months.

I'm pretty lazy. Once my hair is braided or twisted up I don't do anything to it. If my hair needs it I'll do a co-wash and moisturize, but nothing consistent. My hair retains the most length when I don't touch it. Although sometimes I take the low maintenance thing too far and forget about moisture and that's led to breakage in the past. But I've got a handle on how long I can neglect my hair before it becomes a problem.

this is my most recently adjusted regimin:

Shampoo twice a week, usually Monday and Thursday, pre-pooing 30min-1hr with Cantu leave-in cream
MONDAY
  1. Wash with ORS Uplifting shampoo and follow with ORS Mayo, sit under hooded dryer 20 min then rinse.
  2. pat hair to blot excess water using microfiber towel, apply a small amount of ORS oil moisturizer and section hair into six parts and usin gpalstic clips.
  3. apply light amount of Dabur Vatika oil to each section, working it in with my Denman, reclip sections and allow to 75% airdry.
  4. make small-medium twists and gather about four twists and wind around a satin-covered sponge roller, repeat until all twists are in rollers.
  5. cover with silk scarf and go to sleep. In the morning remove rollers and untwist twists, shake and go. I may add some aloe vera gel or fantasia IC gel to edges to smooth them down or wear headband.
TUESDAY-WEDNESDAY
repeat steps 3-5 after lightly misting each section with purified water.

THURSDAY
  1. Wash with ORS Creamy Aloe shampoo and follow with ORS Replenishing Pak. Sit under dryer 25-45 minutes then rinse.
  2. follow steps 2-5 as in Monday.
FRIDAY-SUNDAY
for the most part same as TUESDAY-WEDNESDAY.

I may wear a bun every now and then, but for the most part I've been in this curly twist-out for a couple months now. Waiting to get back to shoulder length before I try more styles. I started washing my hair twice a week with shampoo when I began the daily oiling with the Vatika oil.

Okay, don't hold me to this. I'm still tweaking the products I'm using. Here what I'm doing now:

I co-wash 1x per week with VO5 "kiwi & lime" herbal clarifying conditioner
  1. I deep condition 1x per week with Regis "olive oil" conditioner
  2. I rotate these leave-in conditioners, Cantu leave-in, Stay-soft-fro mix w/mtg, and the new addition BB oil moisturizer. I think I'm gonna phase out Cantu because it contain "cones".
  3. I smooth hair into a bun with, Africans Best "carrot oil cream". I'm so happy I found this. This has allowed me to let gels go!!
  4. I henna/indigo 1x per month
  5. I use Denman 3 brush
I wear my hair 99% pulled back into a ponytail with an elastic band and ponytail pin into a bun w/ bobby pins.

4a

I cowash with VO5 Moisture Milks conditioner and then apply Elucence MB as a leave in, follow up with coconut oil and maybe Chi Silk Infusion. Then I twist my hair with Oyin's Whipped Pudding or Blended Beauty HNS...just whatever I have on hand.

I use the Denman D3 when I cowash and I use a bone comb to part my hair for my twists. After that, I don't use a comb or anything until I do my twists again. I rinse my hair everyday as well, I do scrunch product into my hair after I rinse...then about 1.5 weeks later, I do it all over again.

I henna about once a month but I need to do it more often.

My hair type is mostly 4a with little 4bs, there's a lot of things I do but I'll state the basics, every saturday night I put my mixture of ultra emu oil mixed with other oils on my scalp I massage it in and then coat my hair with alma oil or vatika coconut oil, I put on a plastic cap then my satin cap and go to sleep, next morning I remove the cap and coat my hair with tresemme conditioner I leave that on for 10 mins and then get in the shower I rinse it off and then shampoo with neutrogena triple moisture shampoo after shampooing I pour my mixture of baking soda and warm water to clarify I rinse that off and apply my deep conditioner(I have a lot in rotation)I then put on my plastic cap I will either keep it on all day whilst I do my chores or I'll sit under my heating cap for 1 hour, I'll rinse it off apply my 2 minute aphogee, I'll rinse that off I then squeeze excess water out of my hair, I'll add my alter ego drops massage that in and then add my lacio lacio or salerm21 leave-in, I will put my hair in 4 big braids and begin to detangle with my wide tooth comb I loose little to no hair this way, I don't detangle in the shower with conditioner I will loose balls of hair everyone is different I guess,I usually bun everyday with my phoney pony (check my fotki) so basically I do this once a week, I shampoo once a week and I comb my hair once a week, I co-wash every other day, my hair is in a bun during the day and at night I will take down the bun and massage my oils and moisturizers and baggy every night I use different moisturizers and different oils on my scalp, this is working great for me I'm not changing anything because I have little to no breakage with this system, oh I also do a heavy protein treatment every 6 weeks with emergencee hth!

Don't know my hairtype - I guess 4-something

I wash once a week with Keracare Hydrating Detangling Shampoo and condition with any conditioner I can find. After washing I braid my hair in big plaits over night. It doesn't always dry, though.

Twice a month I do a light Protein Treatment with Keraphix (pre-poo on dry hair), wash hair then deep condition with either Joico Moisture Recovery Balm or Pantene R&N Breakage Defense Mask.

I wear two cornrows on either side of my head for most of the time because it's easy, and I don't have to spend much time with my hair.

My current moisturisers are: Kids Organics Detangler and ORS Olive Oil Lotion (used together). HTH :)

I'm 4a, about 5 - 6.5 inches in various areas.
Once a week:
- Wash with Nexxus Therappe
- Condition with LeKair cholesterol and brush with my denman, rinse it all out
- Apply some MNT moisturising conditioner and rinse about 50% out
- Finger comb backwards and add a headband to let it air dry and go

On alternate days I rinse or COwash with the above conditioners. If I'm COwashing I brush, if not I just rinse. Reband and go. I don't use moisturisers, oils or sprays anymore.

I've got single plaits in at the moment, I've been rinsing through MNT conditioner daily and letting them airdry after clipping the front plaits back.

I guess I should DC sometime soon. Maybe once monthly I'll Clarify with Nexxus Aloe rid and head and shoulders for my scalp at the front and DC with some random mix of conditioners, then follow the first routine.

I don't know my hair type. The more charts and pics I see the more confused I become.

I wash and deep condition my hair two to three times a week, I use mostly Alterna and Nexxus products. When it's hot out I co-wash with with Aveda conditioners.

After rinsing out my conditioner I apply a little leave in and seal with a natural oil or butter.

I rarely use protein because it seems to make my hair feel hard and "crunchy". I don't need much protein anyway.

I wear buns most of the time. I flat iron no more than three times a year. When I wear my hair down it's usually curly.

I'm natural 3c/4a very cottony some places very defined other places. I'm in kinky twists right now, but when my hair is out...
*I wash every 3-7 days(depending on the desire to make serious hair stlye changes) w/ Deva curl no poo, condition w/ devacurl one condition.
* spray w/ ApHogee leave in
* Either Add Miss JEssie's Buttercreme and twist
*Or use CD's and twist
* Sit under the dryer if I have somehwere to be and need it to be dry or go to sleep
* remove in the morning.
Usually about mid week I get sick of the style after progressively pulling it back into a tighter puff so...
* spray w/ leave in
* Moisturize w/ CD's Hair milk
* Braid and sleep in for night
* take out braids and have fuller and more defined fro.
AND every two weeks-3 weeks, when I feel build up
* I do a real shampoo w/ MIzani's Moisturfuse or Bumble and Bumble super rich ( My hair does not like clarifiers)
* Deep condition w/ EVOO, conditioner, and a little honey and leave on hair for about 30 minutes
* rinse and style as usual
ETA: I should be Pre poo for deep condition, and I do a protein treatment ApHogee Keratin and condition afterwards

Lets see I think I am a 3c/4a I have different Textures on my head, I have 3c in the back and 4a in the front. My routine isn't really set because I have a Twa and it is growing so things change but as of right now here is what I do.

I conditioner wash every other day with suave tropical coconut or humectant.
I apply diluted S-Curl Texturizing Spray Daily
Once A week I Take Fresh Cut Herbs and make a Nice Herbal Rinse after I shampoo with my shampoo bar.
I Baggy Every Night!

And that is all I do and my Twa is growing so fast. I had tried to use BT for faster growth but I just don't have the time to oil my scalp at this moment and plus the oil gets on my hair so I will wait a couple months to try to use it again.

I just ordered some Ashas so I hope her products work for me, But I use the good stuff ONLY for special occassions LOL!!!! Other than that it is S-Curl LOL!!

My routine works for me along with Exercise & My Vitamins!!!

I'm a 4a/b natural, and the beauty of this whole natural thing is that I don't really need to follow a schedule, I just "listen" to my hair.

Generally I shampoo and deep condition/detangle my hair once a week. If I'm wearing it lose I just rinse or co-wash daily. If it's in twists, after detangling I braid my hair in six sections and let it airdry, once it's dry (usually overnight) I twist it and leave it alone for a week or so then take them out.

Not sure of my hair type, but I guess I'm a 4 something. I just did the BC, so I have a TWA.

Daily
Co wash, leave-in, seal with oil

Twice a week (usually Sunday and Wednesday)
Pre-poo with oil and light protein
Shampoo
Deep condition
Leave-in and seal with oil

I'm very much a PJ, so my products are always changing

Because I do the whole beauty editing thing, I am sort of a mut, and I use new things all the time. My staples are Aveda Sap Moss Conditioner and Shampoo, as well as Aveda Damage Remedy Conditioner and Reconstructor. I use Sap Moss Everyday, and sub in Damage Remedy 1-2 times a week. If I am trying something new, I'll use only those products for a week. I really like Mixed Chicks line for bringing out my curls.

Other than that, I use Aveda Brilliant and/Or Oyin Whipped Pudding to moisturize, as well as Shea Butter at night. I use my BOUNDLESS TRESSES at night, every night. I keep my hair shiny with Keracare Essential oils for the hair.

I think that's it!
