Re: Naturals, how do you wear your hair in interviews/conservative professional setti
Styled two strand twists, sometimes an up do...pulled back into loose puff with some sort of fabric (most of the time), a shruken fro, and on and on...
I get real creative..
The key for me, is nothing big, and not because of my work setting, just because I don't really like my hair big... just depends.. HTH
Re: Naturals, how do you wear your hair in interviews/conservative professional setti
However I have my hair. I almost never wear my hair 'out', so it's almost never overwhelming. Two strand twists, flat twists, cornrows, updos - when I had my APL dreads, I would wear them in a peacock twist.
I think any style is suitable that is SMALLER than your head (and I don't care what color you are), and roughly your 'natural' color.
Re: Naturals, how do you wear your hair in interviews/conservative professional setti
I use shea butter (cantu) with a little SAA added I then add amazing oil by sister2sister and roll my hair up. It comes out soft and curly and I pin it up it has a really nice curl effect. No one can then tell if its natural or not. But if my hair texture was thicker and more dense then what it is I would use Curls milkshake and souflle and while my hair is soaking wet add the products and make spiral curl thoroughout my head spray with an oil sheen and wear make up and go. Natural hair is more acceptable if there is a certain style created and its has some shine. Atleast that is what I see get past the door in this huge corporation I work in.

I just did the BC and I have a TWA...I'm wearing really cute wigs right now but later, I will be sporting the puff with beautiful scarfs. Or the big pretty bun.... I'm not sure about the BAF
Re: Naturals, how do you wear your hair in interviews/conservative professional setti
I pull it back in french rolls. With a pompadore (sp) somtimes. I just pin it back. Which has become my everyday style almost. I think I look gorgeous.
My hair isn't that long either. So bobby pins are amazing to get this type of look. It's off my face and looks really glam
Re: Naturals, how do you wear your hair in interviews/conservative professional setti
If I'm going to a sales type meeting, I either bun it or wear it like it is in my siggy. I would do the same if my hair was in twists or box braids. When it was shorter, I would just wear a shake and go with a headband or a hair pin. The hair just needs to look clean and groomed when in professional settings. I also think it's a little more polished to wear hair up instead of down, but since natural hair rarely hangs "down," it's easier to wear it "out" instead of having to pin it up like you would straight hair.
Re: Naturals, how do you wear your hair in interviews/conservative professional setti
There was another discussion on this topic a few years ago, not about going for interviews but work. I shared in that thread some of the way I've worn my hair to work so I'll just give a link to the topic here. Otherwise, I've also worn a twist updo, a pushed back puff after my BC, and braid-out on twists.
As I stated in the old thread, if you feel good about how you look and walk talk, others won't help but love and appreciate the do as well. It's amazing what a bit of confidence can do. As long as it looks neat, it will fly.
Re: Naturals, how do you wear your hair in interviews/conservative professional setti
I know it may seem "off" but when I go to interviews, I prefer to wear my hair straight and down or in a bun. I never know what the interviewers perception of natural hair is gonna be so I consider straight hair a "safer" bet.
At my current work setting, I just wear it however...two strand-twists, twist-outs, puff, braids....whatever suits me that week or so. When I interviewed for this position, I was transitioning and wore my hair in a donut bun.

Either a wash n go fro, a 1/2 wig or a phony pony.
It depends on how I feel at the time
Once my hair grows some more, I will add more styles like what LadyKaypnyc listed cuz her hair is just fab
Re: Naturals, how do you wear your hair in interviews/conservative professional setti
I'm transitioning to natural and had an interview yesterday. I have been with the company for 18 months but flew to headquarters out of town for the interview. Those people had never seen me with a braid out or curly hair at all.
I was wearing a wash & go for a few days but chickened out and rollerset my hair for the interview. I put it in a bun.
Re: Naturals, how do you wear your hair in interviews/conservative professional setti
I don't change my hair for professional settings. I wear it out...big, no matter what. If I were on an interview, I would probably wear a bun. I did that when I had a relaxer too.
