Braid outs are my thing now since my hair has finally got some length. I wet braid it at night, wrap it, then braid out in the morning with a light oil for sheen. Also, I noticed once I finally trimmed my ends my braidouts came out alot cuter
i twist my own hair or braid my hair into cute cornrowed styles. i don't try to do too many braid or twist outs because i realize it looks cute but my hair gets extremely tangled with twistouts so i try to limit the days that i wear it out.
I mostly wear plaits 95% of the time..If my hair is not in plaits, it's either in twists, twist out, pony puff or some frohawk style, then the occasional .1%press lol.
wash n go or bun. I haven't pressed my hair in a minute. I just don't have the desire or patience for it right now. Summers are great b/c I'll cowash every day almost
I am transitioing so I'm not sure if this helps. But I wear my hair in what I call a "Braid 'n Curl". It is a twist on Curly Nikki's Twist n' Curl (www.curlynikki.com). I agree with other posters that it is better to wear transitioning hair curly or "textured" than straight. When I say "better", I mean it gives you a chance to get to know and start getting use to your natural texture.
I am almost 6 months into my transition and I am learning so much about my hair. This will no doubt help when it is time to BC. HTH! =)
Im usually in a pony puff or a puff period I've become very lazy since I've been natural lol as well as since Ive been in full-head weaves it takes up less of my time,it can be cute (when its not a week old lol) and I am straight when I need a change. but lately (past two weeks) since I work out 3-4x a week now I have been roller setting and bunning because its easier to manage after working out and I just bun the rest of the time.
I have locs.... usually one side hanging down with the other side pinned up. A messy up-do with a large clip ( I get a lot of compliments on that one), or a ponytail now that they're getting longer with a few out in the front
I mainly do a wash n go , only because I haven't reached a good enough length for me to do a puff yet.(unstrectched that is)... On my "I dont feel like it " days.. I'll rock an instant weave with some sort of funky head band or braid up the front and put one in...Every once in a while, I'll press it and do pin curls..since my hair hates wraps... I'm really interested in finding some new alternatives.. I'm too use to having it in some form of style... this wash n go fro everyday is kicking my style happy butt!
When I was transitioning. I pretty much wore instant weaves, pin curls, braid outs, bantu knots... so forth and so on..
Ok so maybe we need a style inspiration thread for some of us naturals lol. I have yet to curl my locs and I went as far as to buy some loc loops online, but they're sitting in my closet smh. I also want to do bantu knots/knot-outs... nowadays I put on various scarves, snoods, or hats when I want more of a change but i need to stop being so lazy.
I wear my hair out most of the time. The rest I wear a twist or twist-out. When I was transitioning I wore a braid out, which was easier on my new growth and got me accustomed to not having straight hair all the time.
When I transitioned I wore my braidouts in buns. I would braid my hair at night and release it in the morning to blend the two textures and then I would put it all in a bun. Because I cowashed daily, I did not have much breakage. HTH
