I use Castor oil.. My hair stays moist for at least three or four days. I have some Almond oil it's alright but Castor oil is a staple.

what's the difference between and oil and a butter? are butters just solid? Is Jane Carter Nourish and Shine a butter? My hair loved that. (I'm relaxed though) I just wanna know what ya'll like.

I use all of the above. There should have been a multiple choice option. They are all great. Castor oil works well to use when dry-setting your hair.

I use the following:

A three-part mix of Castor, Olive, and Sweet Almond oils. I like to put leave-in conditioner on my edges and then this combo of oils over it and brush my hair back (works great! I don't use gel, so this is my alternative).

I LOVE EVOO! I usually do prepoo's with it.

Since coconut oil is lighter, I use it to moisturize twice a day.

I make my own Vatika Oil:sekret:

ETA: I carefully brush my hair back and use only boar bristle brushes. Just wanted to add that. LOL

I love evoo .. but only in my DC ... I'll use about two capfuls .
My hair does not like oils .. they are too heavy to put in my hair alone .

I voted Coconut oil as thats what I use most, but I also use EVOO, Castor (I've held back because my hair has gotten extra thick), WGO, and I've used amla oil once. Until I find a way for the amla oil to stay off my satin pillow cases, I've taken a break. So thats my deal.

my natural hair loves virgin avocado oil but i dont wear it during the day because i hate the smell. i use it in my mixes or use it to seal with at night.

i use coconut oil and vatika frosting more than any other oil right now and my hair loves it. it will be better once it warms up and the coconut oil melts.

nourish and shine is a butter. most butters do come in oil form though, so when you rub a butter in your hand it will melt into an oil. butters are better to seal with in the colder months imo.

You cant go wrong with coconut oil. I love it for my hair and body. I mix almond oil & EVOO with a little bit of orange essential oil in a spray bottle and spray it on my hair and/or body. I mix shea butter, coconut oil and EVOO to make a hair butter for my ends.

I whip all sorts together or use alone - depends on mood. I have on rotation - castor, coconut, jojoba, shea, cocoa, avocado, mango, EVOO, safflower..... don't ask, lol!

Im a 3 ish something , i love coconut oil:lick:, ( i use after every wash or co-wash after moisturizing, make a indian oil mix ( amla , shikai, bhrami,) that i use at night and cover head w plastic. use amla in my henna mix, castor makes my hair feel hard when putting it on straight but i use in my deep cond's and sprays still experimenting w it. WGO and Doo Gro in different things try to use it up . and also love emu oil it makes ur hair so SOFT! Shea butter is to heavy all the time but mix w other things like / dc's and Double strand twist w aloe. i think thats it when it comes to oils. ....OH i also add EO'S to almost anything and everything (peppermint, rosemary, ylang ylang, lavendar, sweet orange, lemongrass oil. Whew ...no really that's it:grin:!

I voted for coconut oil, but I use a mix of melted shea butter, evoo, and coconut oil with a dab of honey. But I use a lot of coconut oil when I don't use that mix.

Im 4a/4b and Castor oil has been a staple for just about a year now...I just started using coconut oil this past month. Awesome shine!! Love it!! I see why people always rave over it...but those two are definitely good to use.

im a 4b and my hair loves castor oil after washes/co washes. i use it on my ends when the weather is getting cold. i use coconut if i want somthing lighter. i use olive oil to finger detangle and mix with

As a natural I use coconut and castor oil.

Coconut for deep conditioning and I use a coconut/castor oil mix for detangling, the scalp and for sealing.

My hair is loving these two oils, today it's shiny, bouncy and full of life :) Went to take a picture of my hair, but it seems like every time I really want to take a pic it has a low battery

I'm thinking about trying out some wheat germ oil, sunflower oil or some other ceramide rich oil. :yep:

I mix coconut oil and olive oil with my shea butter with a little honey for my twist outs.
I use coconut oil when I twist my hair up at night, though.

I have always had good results using castor oil and jojoba oil mixed together used as a hot oil tx.
I just bought some grapeseed oil to try.

I use an array of oils.. for my scalp i use jbco mixed with emu, coconut, aloe vera, peppermint, tea trea and rosemary oils. Usually I will mix evoo, coconut, macadamia nut, avocado, or sweet almond oil into my deep conditioner and my hair loves it. now that I'm wearing my hair straight to keep it nice, moist and bouncy I will use a drop of jojoba oil.. I love it! .. I'm a 4a/b

Castor oil is my ultimate staple! It has helped me immensley to say the least. My hair has become a lot thicker and healthier too. It's also the only oil that makes my hair so soft and supple which btw I'm a 3c/4a hair type. My bottom front sides are the 4a areas and are thicker and courser than the rest of my hair and most definitely needs more moisture control which although it does not contain water it works like water and does in fact moisturize my hair where it is super soft and managable. My hair is no longer hard and crunchy! Compared to all the products I have that claims to make the hair soft Castor oil is the only one product I use and it definitely does the trick. And I am a serious pj!

I use it all over, mainly one my scalp which I do a 3-4 times a wk massage, and on the ends to seal which has help me so much!

At times I will order the JBCO just to make sure I keep my supply up and not run out, but it's getting expensive. So I just ordered the Home Health 32 fl oz size of castor oil and it works wonderfully as well. I will never be without my castor oil again for as long as I live. Whether it's JBCO or Home Health brand they are my no. 1 staples!!! Period!

Ive used all on the list except the amla and vatika. To be honest my 2 FAVORITE oils are wheat Germ oil and Crisco (liquid) oil.

Castor oil and jojoba are my runner ups

I use a few different oils. I mix melted shea butter (idk if this would be considered an oil), olive oil, castor oil, coconut oil,a dash of wild growth hair oil..along with some aloe vera...so yeah..i'm pretty much all of the above.

I love coconut oil but find it challenging to use during the colder months so I'll be experimenting more with castor oil with my standbys of soybean oil and evoo.
