I'm 4a/b: castor oil and EVOO. I have tried numerous times to get with the coconut oil. Just was not getting it. I did however get my DH to start using coconut oil instead of sulfur eight for his dandruff. Works wonders.

Coconut oil..Alllll Day.. i'ma try out castor oil ..since it's getting colder and its a thicker oil...

I mostly use mixes of shea butter on my hair to seal or do oil rinses. I often add vegetable oils to the mixes. My favourites are:

Castor oil: thick and very moisturizing, I have to use sparingly or else my hair could get sticky and limp.

Avocado oil ( unrefined): quite thick. Quite moisturizing and not as greasy as the other oils.

Coconut oil: I don't like it much on its own. It's very lubricating and purported to help reduce protein losses during washes.

I use avocado and castor oils the most.

Avocado oil: I use it when I'm deep conditioning.

Castor oil: I use it on my ends & I add some to my aloe vera juice.

It's crazy how I use all of the oils listed. By far castor and coconut oil are my favorite. Conconut MUST MUST MUST be used in moderation. It can make my hair a slick shiny mess and enven make it limp. I use a small amount of Castor oil to seal my hair. I take a section of my hair light twist it and lightly saturate my ends,.

Coconut oil and castor oil are the only oils I keep at all times.

Castor oil is a must have for me beause it increases circultion causing growth and it thickens my strands. I usually dilute it in whatever oil im trying to use up. Right now im using it in my mix of aloe vera juice and silk amino acids.

I use unrefined coconut oil for moisture, it smells really good but I keep it in the fridge so I do tend to forget about it.

I don't even use one oil listed !

I use sapote oil, baobab oil, yangu oil,I would like to give a try to safflower.

I mostly use EVOO, but i also use Shea Butter. i've used coconut before, but that was years ago. i want to go back to using it though. I use castor oil sometimes, but in leave-ins.

I use all the oils mentioned in your poll....for the vatika oil i used hairveda's version and for the amla oil, i used a homemade version.

coconut oil  however ihavent used as much lately becuz of the cold weather (freezes in my hair)

but Jojoba oil is my second favorite:grin:

I am using Co/conut Oil to seal my ends and I am using Jojoba Oil for Hot Oil Treatments and sealing on days I hot oil my hair. So far, so good

I voted coconut as I have just begun using Keracare essential oils, which has coconut among other oils in it. To be honest, my hair is ok without oil (at least while it is in braids - I'm only using it to dilute my MN.

My stylist always said I didn't have to daub my hair in oil - she always quipped "if your hair feels dry, wash it and condition it, don't slather it in oil" :yep:
