What keeps your hair constantly moisturized?

My hair is strange, so it's something different everyday! Shea butter used to work, but now it just leaves my hair greasy. Now I'm using conditioners and sealing with old products that I need to get rid of(Natural Oasis, Hollywood Beauty Castor Oil, Doo Gro Oil, etc.)

How about you???

How do you apply the EVCO??
I have a jar, I just don't know how to use it:rolleyes:

I just take a little bit on the tip of my finger (maybe 1/4 tsp) rub it in my palms and run it from hairline to nape and back again. Then I go from ears to crown and back again.

Just making sure I've sealed all the goodies in so my hair stays moisturized.

Homemade mixtures work for me. Shea butter mixed with an oil and/or conditioner. Shea butter alone does nothing.

Water, Glycerine, HairVeda's Whipped Cream and CoCasta Oil

I use shea butter on my 2nd/3rd day ends and edges

NitaChantell, what's your hair type and how often do you shampoo? I'm 4c-z with a little patch of 4a at the nape. If your products aren't working the same, maybe you just need to wash away some product build-up. Believe it or not the softest hair I've ever had was from a twist-out using Qhemet, that got old and I refreshed and retwisted with MJ Curly Meringue (using up some old product). Also, before you buy a new product, try adding ingredients to some of your existing products. I added Glycerine to some CD HHB and did a patch test. It gave me some very plump shiny twist...

When my hair is straightened, grease/oil keeps my hair moisturized.
When my hair is in it's natural state, Aussie Moist Conditioner keeps my hair moisturized.

Jane Carter Solution Revitalizing Leave-In & Jane Carter Solution Hair Nourishing Cream

Hydratherma Naturals Daily Moisturizing Growth Lotion also works well.

I have some sample sizes of qhemet.. the heavy cream, root butter, and hydrating balm... I don't know what I want to do with them.. this is my first time using qhemet and I want to do it right

heavy cream should be for styles that need more hold, I use it for my twists, root butter is lighter and can work puffs and wash and go type styles. I've never used the hydrating balm so I can't help you there.

kbb hair milk, kbb hair cream, qhemet biologics heavy cream, madagascar vanill styling cream and pure coconut oil.

For me its glycerin/water mix (about a capful/tablespoon of glycerin, rest water in a braid spray bottle). Allways natural oil moisturiser, Hollywood beauty Carrot (or olive) creme, and some shea butter on the ends. Sometimes I do all of those, others just depends on the amount of moisture I need. Carrot creme/shea butter for dryer days (and areas like my infamous crown, and ends) allways for lighter moisturization. If Its too much and I end up feeling grasy, I'll just spray more glycerin water.

Thanx! I can finally stop staring at those containers and start using them.. lol :lachen:

I mix rose water, vegetable glycerin, infusium 23 for damaged/dry hair, and trader joes norishspa conditioner in my spray bottle,,,,,shake it up,,,,spray,,,seal with an indian oil,,,,and my hair stays moisturized all day...even when im out in the sun......I use more rosewater and glycerin than the infusim and conditioner.....hope this helps...

People always ask me how I maintain the "wet look" all day. It isn't really a wet look in my opinion my hair just stays moisturized all day. It dosen't look all dry. As a natural I co-wash daily with either Aussie Moist or Moisture Maniac and leave it in. My hair stays moisturized I then follow it up with Extra Virgin Olive Oil and all my styling products have olive oil in them including my gel and oil sheen.

water and aussie moist or hello hydration...

...whenever my hair is curly that will do it.

when it's straight, coconut oil...but i am considering selling a toe for nourish & shine

I deep condition weekly with Mizani Moisturefuse. I moisturize daily with Abba Pure Gentle conditioner. I was using shea butter at one point but it is tooo heavy although it is excellent for moisture. The products I use keep my hair soft and moist w/o the greasiness or heaviness.

Funny this topic shld pop up again! I recently got my hair professionally straightened for the first time in months. I've been using Care Free Curl spray in the gold and yelllow bottle (I put a pump or two in my hands and rub it into the ends). It's been great at keeping my hair light and flowy.
