Have you ever tried any of these products? And if you have, can you tell me if it worked on your dry hair or wet hair better. I'm really looking for a good moisturizer for my hair. I don't want to spend the money on it, if I'm not going to like it. At this time, I can't waste money on a no good hair moisturizer.

Hair Milk
Black Vanilla Leave-In
Healthy Hair Butter
Khoret Amen Leave-In
or any other hair product.

Well, I voted other, b/c I have the Hair Milk, but I don't USE it...It makes my hair soo dry. For 18 bucks, she should be ashamed of herself b/c that stuff does nothing for my hair. If you do decide to get her products, purchase them from Sephora, b/c they allow you to return them even after you've opened it.

If you order directly from CD, they don't accept returns on opened items.

Qhemet Biologics have some really good moisturizers, my favorite is the Burdock Root Butter Cream (qhemetbiologics.com)
Shea Moisture's Shea Butter Leave In is great too (you can get that from your local BSS)

I use the Rosemary mint shampoo and the khoret amen smoothie on my daughter. They do a good job at detangling her hair which gets dry and tangled at times. I'm undecided about whether or not they really condition. I also use their khoret amen leave in on her dry hair to detangle before I comb, however I still use some kind of pomade for moisture on sleekness. I bought one of the Carol's Daughter's pomade for her but it's not heavy enough, she needs old fashion hair grease. I also use a couple of her body products but that's another topic.

Thanks alot ladies, I didn't even think of doing the search. I should've though, I was tempted to really purchase, but I'm glad I'm not.

On your poll I said I used the Khoret Amen leave-in, but I use the oil, I guess that's different from the leave in? I love the oil, the smell is bit strong but the oil is very soothing/healing for the scalp, especially if you have any scalp issues. When I first came to LHCF with very dry, damaged hair, I adored CD's products. They helped me grow out my nape area. I would use the CD Some of Maugerite's Magic, the Khoret Amen hair oil and the hair balm:lick:. I rarely use Some of MM anymore because it is sooo heavy and my hair just isn't that dry anymore. I still use the hair balm though from time to time on my edges and nape area, it is very rich.

I didn't like any of her shampoos/conditioners though. I tried the hair milk and really wanted to like it but it just kinda set on my hair.

CD has a really wonderful website and the testimonials made me think that she really did have a good product. I was really disappointed. My experience with her products (mimosa & heathy hair butter) was disappointing over time. Plus I really did not like the heavy floral scents.

One of the best natural products I've used is organic coconut oil! Vatika oil is one of my current staple oils, coconut oil based.

Exactly. And overpriced at that.
Everything I tried either left my hair a hard tangled mess or a greasy mess. No moisture, no nothing. Just heavily scented expensive mess.

i love the hair balm. although it is too heavy to use in the summer. it gives a great shine and it moisturizes and it smells so good. her oils are good too but i found something better and cheaper. i use to love the healthy hair butter but i think the formula change because the consistency and texture is different. i hated the rosemarry shampoo and tui conditioner but that was before the new formular.

Co-sign to the CD products being garbage sentiment. Just wanted to add I think she went corporate and compromised the integrity of the product. It doesn't have the same kind of effects that all natural lines like Qhemet Biologics do.

When I first bought and used Carol's Daughter, it was a better product. I guess she was still making it in her house or sink or something.

It was expensive, but I didn't know about any other product line. Over the years, the stuff just ended up with more chemicals in it, and it made my hair freak out.

Then, when she started getting Jada and Mary J. Blige pimping out her stuff, and I heard JayZ was involved, then HSN. I was done. I'll stick with Shescentit and Qhemet. I hope neither of them get so corporate the product quality starts to tank...

I guess Im in the minority and I still like her products :look:

I use her healthy hair butter mixed with her mimosa hair honey for my twists...however, I guess from all the feedback...I may need to start a new round of PJism to find something new. :ohwell:

No friend, don't stop using it just because no one else likes it! (I know you're kidding, but still!). OP, I actually really like the Healthy Hair Butter. I just bought it this Saturday and it's very good for my hair. I have been using it for the past couple of days and I like it a lot, much more than I thought I would. I do agree that a lot of the other stuff is rubbish but some of it is really good! :yep:

I do co-sign with Nappysunflowers that CD is not as good as Qhemet, which is truly my first love.

The Hair Milk softens my hair when I use it for twist outs. Overall, I don't like CD. The products are overpriced and are NOT natural. They have tons of chemicals and fragrance. I've tried the Black Vanilla Leave-In and it made my hair crunchy, the same with the Seaweed Shampoo.

Tried the leave in on dry hair, made it kinda "crunchy??" Never thought to try on wet hair. I mixed some glycerin in it to help, did wonders for it...glycerin by itself can be a bit much for my hair. I always mix my glycerin in other stuff. Sooooo, $18 bucks for a mix in??? Um not. The rosemary mint shampoo works GREAT when I feel buildup in my hair. It makes my hair squeeky clean and feels nice when wet, but I always follow it with Kenra moisturizing condish. I wanted to try the souffle stuff, but didn't want to pay without doin some more investigative work.

i used to do that. i loved the scent of the hair butter but after giving CD's stuff chance after chance i took it all back to sephora for a refund. my hair hated the products and i honestly tried almost everything. the only thing i still have is the Tui Hair Oil because of the scent. I use it about once every six months but now that i'm thinking about it, i think i'll trash it cause it is thick and sticky and makes my hair feel dirty which is why i hate it. when i have used it, i did so the day of or the day before i knew i was going to shampoo.

I tried the Healthy Hair stuff on m hands at Macy's. That stuff STINKS!!!! eww. If you sweat then it would probably get worse

What turned me off from the products was the smell. Not one of the products smelled good to me, and I'm not putting nothing stinky in my hair, I don't care what it does.

Same here. I tried the Hair milk which was too heavy, the Tui shampoo which didnt have any slip and left my hair feeling dry and the Tui conditioner which didnt soft the hair after the shampoo. The only product that was OK was the black vanilla leave-in that i use for braids.

I use the black vanilla leave in for my braids too and I like the rosemary mint shampoo. The pomade does nothing for my hair and the tui condish is ok

I've used the healthy hair butter for a while and I like it. I tried the hair balm and hair elixer too. The hair balm didn't do much for me, but I would heat the heat hair elixer and use it as pre-poo. The peppermint in it would really stimulate my scalp.

i've faithfully used the Black Vanilla leave in for about 5 years... i mix it with spring water, olive oil and a little glycerin in a spray bottle and use as a hair refresher when i braid my hair at night... i mainly use it for the subtle scent. everyone raves about how great my hair smells. i would never use it as a leave-in though....

I just tried the tui hair oil and the kizzie hair pomade. The pomade didn't really make a difference on my hair as far as I can tell but the hair oil makes my hair so soft and shiny and my SO loves the scent. I sampled all the products in sephora before buying. I am able to tell by the texture of a product if it will work for my hair. Honestly the rest of her products would have been boo boo garbage for me as well but the ones I got are working well so far. I'm going to test the pomade to see if it will help to get my hair in a puff...so far that has been an impossible task for me (My hair never lays down on the front and sides) but we shall see what Kizzie (Stay Put) Pomade will do for me
