Naturals And Middle Parts

I do middle parts for the most part. I love the way it makes the hair frame my face even when I straighten my hair. I do side parts sometimes when I'm feeling edgy and want to toss some hair over my eye. lol. But its hard for my hair to stay in the side part since I'm always doing middle parts.

I do both side and middle parts.

Middle part:

Often times because I may wear a style for a whole week, I prefer not to have that part become somewhat permanent so I may criss-cross twists over the part so that you can't really see the part--but it's still in the middle:

And you know I couldn't leave this out pookaloo83:

diagonal middle parts look best on me. It looks like a side part from the front without adding all the volume on one side only in the back like a middle part. I tend to look plainer with a middle part. Side parts in the front make me look younger and fresh.

Diagonal middle part or no part at all (like let the strands go were they please).

I sometimes do a side part. But rarely now a days

I see a big forehead is a common denominator for not liking the middle part :giggle:

My forehead is big as well and the middle part is a no go for me. But it looks so cute on others. I'm so jealous.

Ambrosia from YT has really cute middle part styles.

My forehead doesn't give me many options, so side part it is.

Sent from my iPad using LHCF...if only it would stop correcting what I write.

Are the first set of pics extensions or your hair? I like that.

YAy! Coolio 2.0!

No pookaloo83 the first pics are not of just my hair; they are a braid-out on extension braids done on natural hair. Does that count? :sekret: I am a natural afterall sporting a middle part, right? :look:

The blurry pic below was of my hair but with a side part. :ohwell:

:giggle: I knew you'd appreciate Coolio. @ 2.0.

I have APL natural hair and an oval face, but I hate middle parts on me. Side parts work best for me especially with big twist outs or braid outs.

I think for me, I love side parts but I do middle parts as well. Right now I need to get my hair shaped though. Here are some regular pics of my hair.

I wear diagonal middle and side parts. I could only see myself wearing a middle part if the hair which frames my face was about ear-chin length or longer in its shrunken state.

When my hair is straight, I like a middle part. I think it's b/c my hair is a lot longer straight than it is curly, so it frames my face better. But when it's curly? idk looks kinda funny. However, diagonal middle parts NappyNelle work for me, too.

I have a permanent middle part from my relaxed days. :look: But I liked how a side parts looked on my straight hair.

Now, I am back to middles.

My hair has been permanently parted in the middle for about 20 years now. When I get out of the shower, my hair is parted in the middle and my hair lie down on the sides.

When I wear twist outs, I part my hair in the middle. When I wear WnG, my hair is parted on the side and I usually slick the sides back with barrettes, pins or clips. That works better because my WnG are still pretty shrunken and a middle part with Bozo hair looks HAM on me.

I don't think middle parts are flattering on anyone. They can look okay if the person has bangs...otherwise nope.

I prefer the off center parts vs center parts. My face is sort of wide but I agree that skinny face shapes look better with a center part.

@CurlyActress your hair is pretty. What are the colors and how did you achieve them (if you don't mind my asking)?

I did a hair show for Clairol a while back and they made this color. I believe it's a red semi-permenant base with highlights (didn't let them get too blonde, more like orangey) then to get the RED, I do a rinse with Cedar Red Brown from the Beautiful Collection. Ofcourse the current color is altered from growing out and recoloring with similar but different base colors, and red fades over time so the color has taken a life of it's own! lol
