How long did you transition b4 b/c?
I didn' transition - I just cut off all the perm and started with a fade. But then I started pressing as it grew out. Got color and screwed it all up. From that point, I transitioned for about 6 months before my last BC.
How long have you been natural?
Since last BC - 1 year and 9 months. But in total - 5 years.
What is your current length (stretched)?
The front is almost shoulder length, sides are collarbone, and a few armpit pieces in the back.
What products give you good curl definition?
Detangling with my Denman D4 and smoothing in products. Products I use: KCCC, Curly Pudding or Eco Gel - but always use a leave-in underneath - most recently Giovanni Direct.
What products do you use for slicking into a ponytail or just around the edges?
I don't do ponytails

How long did you transition b4 b/c? I grew my hair out for about 6 months, cut it off, and then wore braids for a while. I ended up doing another semi-BC because I had damage from braids and heat use.

What is your current length (stretched)? was MBL now a little above BSL ( I had to cut it, ends were damaged)
What products give you good curl definition? I would like to know too (lol ), I haven't had any success yet w/getting good curl definition, cowashing tends to make my curls pop somewhat but they still frizz., If I want a curly look I do a twist out w/ a little gel on dry/stretched hair.

didnt transition, just cut, natural for 3 years with 2 big cuts, one in 05 and one in 06 as my hair started growing i didn't know what to do with it and the short look was real easy. my length is pass collar bone, one inch from apl, conditioner give me good curl definition. ponytail, i use conditioner, vatkia, and ic gel. fotki in signature...

Just plain water or World of Curls curl activator, but I don't wear my hair in it's natural coily state anymore. I always wear a blowdried out fro, and now I'm starting dreadlocks.

The best product I ever used for slicking down my edges was Fantasia Thick N Shine Gel but I don't use it anymore and I don't style my hair that way. I just let my hair be frizzy.

I didn't BC during transition. I just trimmed gradually as I redid braid till relaxed hair was gone. I know it was fully gone in a year.

A little past shoulder length. I'm sort of where I was in 2007 and where I was in 2004. In 2004, I went heat happy and had to do a good trim and hide in braids for about 2 years. In 2007 just when I was sure I was on track with my shoulder length hair, a SHS went to town on my head so that I was left with about 3 inches of hair. So this is yet another attempt at trying to grow my hair and see how far I can go. Hopefully I have learned a thing or two and won't have any setbacks.

My hair curls when I wash it and condition and I consider seeing my coilies, definition. It also curls when I apply S Curl. But from what I understand, my definition of "definition" is different from what folks mean when they seek definition. Folks' idea of "definition" involves clumping. Since this isn't something I have sort to get my hair to do--as I don't really care for all the work that'd come with trying to separate the strands later plus I don't even know why I'd want that--I really can't answer. I have done an experiment to show that 4B hair does clump if I just wash it, condition it, and just let it be. But because of the size of the coils, you really have to be up-close and personal to see this so-called "definition".
So what's the point? I love a combed-out fro. Walking around with uncombed hair is just so foreign to me, and I'd never known anyone did this till I joined hair forum. I always thought someone was not all there when I saw it. Who knew it was a style!

I don't use anything to slick my hair down. Usually when I'm wearing my hair out, I have S Curl applied to it (the spray) and I just use my fingers to smooth it back. I might use a brush to comb the peppercorn coils that might form at the nape or hairline but otherwise, slicking hair back has never appealed to me. I let my frizz shine with pride:

What products give you good curl definition? Water + conditioner + gel. However most of the time I just do twist/braid outs or stretched out puffs to avoid tangling issues.

Usually just some water, conditioner and my hands but I really don't go out of my way to smooth anything down.
