Natural Hair Thoughts

I love being natural and not interested in relaxing again but I can't help noticing the looks I get when wearing my straight wig vs my twisouts.

I told my mom the other day that I notice when I wear my natural hair, most black men turn away, and white men take a second look. When wearing my wig its just the opposite. She said that black men are use to seeing black women with relaxed hair and white men look at it like its something different.

Naturals, what are your thoughts? Have you experienced the same?

At my corporate job today I am wearing a bun. My bun is wrapped in a conditioning cap with a black knee-high secured around it, a method I got from Chicoro. The temps are in the upper 90s so I'm sure my ends are doing well.

Not at all, if anything quite the opposite...so many (black) guys I come into contact with just about wet themselves over a lady with a whole lot of real hair, cant seem to keep their hands off of it. There are quite a few that go as far as to even put you into a whole different rare breed of (unicorn-like) woman based solely on the fact that you *dont* wear hairpieces. Never met any that preferred a wig, that's odd.

I get more compliments from men in general about my hair in it's natural state than I did with my hair in any other form. I get more compliments from women when I'm rocking any hairstyle but my natural. lol. It's quite odd. Guys will stop me and tell me they really like it. I may not have that blinging swing but I give guys that fluffy fever. lol.

I'm pretty sure the OP meant straight vs. natural not real vs. fake...

ETA: I've been getting more compliments since I've started experimenting more with my transitioning hair. Maybe the men in DC like that "this is a test" look

Op said her 'twist outs vs a straight wig' though? Idk.

At any rate, in my observation, men dont care whether its curly or straight as long as theres alot of it, but I've had more male 'random hair touchers/admirers' when I'm rocking it big and curly than ironed and bone straight.
