and although im biased, i think it should be in a major city like nyc or atlanta or miami or la because you can get cheaper flights to major cities. also more recreational stuff to do.

It's a great idea. A city like Chicago (in the summer time, of course) might be a good idea. Also speaking of taking it to the next level, I think the next level would be a chain of hair salons specifically targeting black women that want to grow their relaxed or natural hair long - an LHCF salon.

If you want to know the truth, I feel that the National LHCF Conference should start at their headquarters which is Virginia. I noticed on the home board that there is an address where you can mail donations and saw the Virginia address. I thought that would be a good idea. Hopefully, we can meet at Virginia Beach or somewhere that it's based.

I think that will be wonderful. Just a thought.

Seriously though a major city is cool since the choice of social activities is almost endless plus tonnes of Dominican salons for a spot of rollarsetting!? and shopping, and tonnes of beauty supply stores and and and...

I suggest a vote for the city everyone would most like to have this in?

Sounds like a wonderful idea. It puts me in the mind of the whole theme we was thinking about for the LHCF cruise, which is still going down. No date has been set but it is soon to come. My mentioning of this is not to discourage the planning of a LHCF Conference, those that wish to attend either or both event is up to that individual. The LHCF cruise was not my idea originally, but I thought it was a GREAT one, and put the wheels in motion for it to happen, along with the other cruise commitee members.
I invite ALL to try to attend, but I know a cruise is not feasible for all, so check out the thread on the Meeting Board and see which would fit better in your schedule.

I'll alert Bev, and the other Admins and Mods to this thread to see what they thoughts are.

That would be so cool! I think Las Vegas would be a great place! cheap hotels, eats, and lots of opportunity for group activities and entertainment.

I think it sounds like a good idea. The conference should not take place during the same year of the cruise. Also, we could have it at a hotel and get cheap, group rates. I also think we could work on getting vendors to exhibit at the conference their hair care products. Maybe we could get an Economic Development organization to sponsor the conference. Many states have marketing dollars to attract vistors and possible residents.

Two years is pratical, it should be plenty of time to plan. I plan on being there!
