Name the 5 hair mistakes

I only watched the first video because the OP wanted the 5 "mistakes", and
I personally don't feel there were ANY. "Everything ain't for everybody". Yes she used lots of shampoo and put it on the length of her hair, but hey maybe she used lots of cones and oils that week and wanted a deeper clean.

I can tell you more of what she was doing right than wrong:
1. Completely wetting hair before applying shampoo
2. Making sure to massage rather than scratch her scalp
3. Knowing that the first lather doesn't always yields lots of lather but that doesn't mean the hair is not getting clean
4. Making sure to completely get the water out of her hair
5. Not towel trying by harshly rubbing hair

It's terrible that this is the same company who stole HairLoves pictures, and for that reason I don't trust them as a company, but I have seen WAY worse hair practices on YT.

ETA: I watched the 3rd video, and she only places the conditioner in her daughters hair for less than 5 secs then rinses, so she could do a longer conditioner. But maybe she is a trained stylist because most of them never condition long.

Her hair has alot of swang! I wonder if it's from the products, she says it is.

I know. I just can't get with not using some sort of heat protection though. She didnt use that last product until after she blowdried. And I think that was more for shine.

Exactly. That's why I said typical stylist behavior, and why I don't go to them. :lachen:

She was not massaging her scalp she was scratching it like she had fleas:lachen:

The only things i see that were wrong, is that she is very very very rough on her hair, it was like she was attacking a wild beast:lachen::nono: And also she used ALOT of shampoo for her hair, she barely got it on her scalp.. in the second video she had lots of tangles and her hair look very dry/dull from all that shampooing:nono: Oh and i think she didnt even use a heat protectant either:nono:

But anyway i like her curls and she had more swanggggg & fullness then that Ateeya girl:rolleyes:.

Yeah, and they want to charge you at least $10 for a "deep" conditioner treatment, which IMO is normal and expected hair care.

I hope I'm not the only one that didn't realize you're only supposed to shampoo the scalp before this thread. :look:

^^^ Yes I think it's a common misconception that you're supposed to be shampooing all your length - you don't! You just need to concentrate the poo on the scalp. The shampoo will still cleanse your hair as it runs down your strands when you rinse off - this will be enough, remember that shampoo at the best of times can be quite harsh.

:yep::yep::yep:This is precisely the reason why I now only try to use Shampoo to Clarify. My Hair/Scalp can be extremely dry. And I think Shampoo's was causing 3/4ths of the dryness and the "itch" That is why I primarily Co-Wash now with a moisturizing conditioner.

Now, if I feel the "need" to use a Regular Shampoo it has either got to be in conjunction with a Pre-Poo or a Shampoo SLS Free and with a very Low ph Balance.

The only problem I saw was the amount of shampoo she used. She made a point to say that she was wringing her hair gently and massaging gently so I don't have an issue with her techniques. I guess I don't see what the big deal is with this video :ohwell:

OP, What are the top 5 mistakes in the video?

I concur. I see no reason to be in an uproar about these videos.

My guess is that it was easier for her to show a tutorial by sticking her head under the sink rather than being absolutely naked in the shower LOL

She has beautiful hair, very thick. My hair doesn't tangle up when I shampoo it either. If I shampoo'd it this much my hair would be very dry. Seems to work for her though.

I couldn't watch the entire video because it was scary..I haven't washed my hair that way since I found LHCF...I only wash my hair that way when I just relax but I stretch to 16 weeks so if I were to do like she suggest, I wouldn't have any hair left on my head. What she is doing is promoting tangles and breakage especially if you are stretching. Nope, not interested.

Me neither:nono:

Thanks for posting Part 2. Her hair came out great after the blow dry and flat iron. I think it looks like she is handling her hair rough because the videos are not in real time, they are slightly sped up. Remember, you can't blow dry an entire head of hair in less than 3 minutes.

Did you all bombard her with mean comments :angry2:? Comments have been disabled and I want to ask her what blowdryer was she using.

I know I didn't, I sent her a message asking that very same question.
