My Trip Today to Ana's Dominican Salon (Added pics)

I decided to get my hair straightened today. This is my first time since being all natural. Hopefully, I won't get heat damage as a result of this. I'm trying out a different dominican salon. It's Ana's Salon at 3001 Fondren in Houston.

I think it's so interesting to see the women here. I think I may have seen Niko's cousin. She just pulled out a denman to wrap her hair after her blowout. There's this other lady that came in with very thin relaxed hair and requested a relaxer! I can't believe it. Her hair is about APL, but too thin from overprocessing. There's also a lady here with about BSL hair, and I saw her pull out WEN product. This other black lady just came in with long APL hair. Looks like she had one too many blowouts. lol There's a little girl in here with natural 4a hair. I want to see how her hair turns out since it's so similiar to mine.

I'm through with the dryer now, and waiting for my turn with Ana and the roundbrush. Ill be sure to share pics when I get home.

______________________UPDATE________________

By the time I got home, my hair was way too big. I decided to flat iron with my chi. I used Sabino before I did though. After I flat ironed, I added two tracks of clip in extensions that I made. For the clip-ins, I sewed two wefts of old Extensions-Plus hair together, and then sewed the wig clips to it. I added the clip-ins for extra length, and I wanted a more blunt look without all the layers I have on the sides. As you can see, the freakin' weave still wasn't as long as BSL. Oh well...it still came out ok. I was able to wear it straight for a week.

Before salon

After blowout

YIKES!

Started to Flatiron

All done

Added clip-ins and curled

I combed out the curls a little after this so it would blend better

NO FLASH

More in my fotki of course :lachen:

After I wrapped it overnight

Trying different styles since it was getting frizzy

Took out clip-ins - straight hair lasted a week:ohwell:

Alright! Can't wait to see pics!

Will this be your first blowout ever, or since being natural?

It will be my first time since being natural. I've had it blown out before twice while I was transitioning. This is my first time at this salon too.

I am a long-time customer of Ana's I think with all my referrals, i have blown Ana's clientele up single-handedly!!! LOL!

I stopped going because I couldn't deal with the wait time and I moved very far away. I've posted here about her salon numerous times...I would like to know how she does your natural hair because she really used to push relaxers, she did NOT use flat irons, and many times I wouldn't even get a blow-out because my hair was so gorgeous right after a rollerset, I'd just doobie and go...so, please post and let us know how it goes...and how long did you wait. ;-D

I had my best hair when I was an Ana client. Her family is great, too. Oh how I miss my Ana-hair...

Okay you guys. I just got home, and I'm not really impressed. I don't know what happened...could have been the humidity although I had her use SBM, my ends look TERRIBLE. My hair is way too big. I really wanted a more sleek straight look.

I'm about to go over my hair with my CHI. I hope that helps.

Oh no!!!! That sucks!!! Sorry it didn't turn out like you'd hoped

Awww I'm sorry. :ohwell: If you wrap it after you flat iron it, it should smooth out by morning. :yep:

I'm too lazy to go find the "this thread is useless without pix" smiley, so just pretend i put it here.

STOP BEING A TEASE and show us!!!! :)

Dang. I was hoping you'd luv your results. I know she didn't believe in flat irons back in the day, so I was wondering how your hair would do....I'm sorry.

I still wanna see.....

Lol..I did take some pics of it after the salon, after I flatironed, and then when I added some clip-in extensions that I made. It looks GREAT! I'll post pics as soon as I find the cord to upload them.

Beautiful hair!!

I cant wait to get to your length!

Makeup question: Did you put eyeliner on half of your lid or the whole eye?

I know I can always count on you for some good styles to try. My hair is a bit too big this week also, so I need to tame it. I like the pic with it pinned back - that's cute, I think I'll do that tomorrow, thanks!

Oh question - when you went home and used your Chi, you put more SMB on while your hair was dry? How did it feel afterwards? I thought about doing this but I never tried it while it was dry.

Thanks! I put it on the whole at the top, and on my waterline. You can see it a little better here. It's my every day look. lol

Looks even better when you apply lashes -- simple

Been trying to do the winged eye
