I've always loved the walk-in option & the less than two hour turnaround time. I haven't been to an AA salon in 10 years because I'm so spoiled.

Exactly right. ITA. I could never EVER go back to a regular, AA salon.... it just doesnt make sense for me and my needs. The Dominicans are cheaper, faster, and more accomodating (in terms of doing what you ask for, and not trying to force you to do something that you dont want, ie, trim), in my opinion. And my hair is THRIVING, thanks to them coupled w/my LHCF regimen.

But again, i would recommend staying away from the weekly blow-outs. That is murder on the ends.

I went this weekend in Dallas Texas and my experience was awful. She did a blow out on me and you are right....If the ends needs to be trimmed it shows up some awful! She didn't put any moisturizer in my hair and told me I didn't need any. She said black people use to much of that stuff anyway (Tell tell sign of me never going back). She did the blow out and just left me looking all dray and raggedy. I had to ask her to do something to the ends. She put a lil serum on it dry when i told her it look too dry but it still looked dry. I just wasn't happy. Sure my hair was straight at the roots but that was that was good about it. And this Dominican was not cheap. She charged me 35.00. Go figure that for a bad style. I will never go back again.

Letitia, maybe you should try bringing your own products next time including moisturizer. I saw plenty-o-women in there with their own mizani shampoos, keracare conditioners, etc. Sorry to hear about your experience (and the price). :(
