As the months go on my baby's hair is getting longer and longer. Yesterday I washed his hair twice with PM Tea Tree SHampoo, Once with Matrix Hydrating SHampoo, and Steamed with SE Green Tub MegaSIlk for 30 minutes. I twisted his hair for 2 hours and he went under the dryer for 1 hour.

all in all I am glad that's done, I will have to redo in 2-3 weeks. :D

He wore his do-rag last night and it mangled it just a bit

Wow you even gripped the nape hairs and twisted them!!! Lol all kidding aside you did a fantastic job and your son is gonna be a heartbreaker!

Dang those twists are nice! His hair is very healthy and smooth looking too.

I can't wait to do hair.I want to try this..maybe on my son. It lasts two to three weeks or are you locking them? How did you do this and what did you use? How is he going to maintain his hair while it is like this?

He's such a cute little man!!! His twists are really nice too!

Mamma JJamiah, you are gonna have to beat the girls off with a stick soon. :yep:

I know right, future ladies' man in the building.

These look really nice. Are these the same things as comb coils? Blackmasterpiece posted a tutorial on a style called comb coils that she did on her friend and they look similar to these.

Thanks so Much Ladies, I went off to class. :) Thanks so Much I will let him look at all the lovely comments when he gets home from school. :)

I use to work in a particular salon before I had kids, and a wonderful Natural Hair Stylist named IRBY from Irvington, NJ showed me how to do them. So I owe this to her :)

Are you locking his hair? He's such a handsome child!

No I am not locking his hair. I asked and he said :nono:, he'd prefer if I re-do them every 3 weeks :ohwell:

I washed with Paul Mitchel Tea Tree x2, Matrix Bio something hydrating shampoo (he needs moisture), I Steamed him under the steamer with SE Green tub megasilk for 30 minutes, he loves that LOL

After that I immediately get busy, I don't like working on dry hair. I use Proclaim Protein Styling Gel and a tapered barber comb (Starflite #55 by Dupont) and I twist his hair. I take fine portions at the back and gradually make them a little bigger but still uniform.

He sits under the dryer for an hour least.

Plus last week one girl challenged him to the MONKEY BARS, said if she beats him "you have to tell me if you like me", If he won "I will leave you alone".

Thanks, Yes they are just when I worked in the salon people called them twist, and then when double became a big thing it was single twist. It's the same though. :)

Lovely comb coils!! I've never seen this style on a lil boy before, only braids or locs. I also never knew comb coils were also called single strand twists. I got some ejumucation in this thread.
