My hubby has a question for you guys...

tiffers

Whisper "bleep boop" to yourself when you're sad.
I told my husband about this site, and he wants me to ask you lovely ladies a question. He has thinning hair on his temples and his hairline is receding a bit. I've read about Vatika oil, would that help? How do you apply it? What else do you ladies recommend? Thank you SO much!

I started using Vatika about three weeks ago and I can't say for sure that I see any results. I would recommend Lenzi's Request though...it's been thickening up my edges/nape nicely in the 4-5 weeks I've been using it.

YES!! Vatika oil has helped my hairline tremendously. I apply it every night before I go to bed. Because it's coconut oil based I just stick it in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds 'til it warms up (coconut oil is solid below 70 something degrees). Then I apply a little oil to my scalp and rub it in well for a few seconds. Then I pinurl my hair (but I'm pretty sure he can leave that step out):lol::lachen:. HTH.

receeding hairline and baldness has more to do with hormones than topical growth aids. Apparently in men it has to do with testosterone levels. BUT... I have heard of a few things that might work
1. if its just the case of mistreatment of his hair on his part then MTG, Vatika oil or any other growth aid could help
2. I heard that drinking a cup of gree tea everyday helps
hth

Hi hubby. I'd go w/ MTG. :bud:

I don't know how long this too, but I noticed new hairs growing along my hairline about 2 weeks after I started using it.

Thanks you guys! I was about to order Linzi's Request, but hubby was like "TEN DOLLARS?!" Now I have an excuse to get it! :D

Also deep massages. I was reading about alopecia and learned of some recent info. One thing that was said was that balding (male pattern baldness) caused a thickening of the scalp which inhibited blood flow and subsequently hair growth. They found that older men sometimes experience some regrowth when their skin thins out due to age.

My hubby has a thin spot towards the back. I'm using Jamacian Black Castor oil and it's filling in.

I also deep condition his hair, do co washes, and massage the scalp. He wears a plastic cap too, but he hates it. I even purchased him a black satin pillow case and he seems to like that. I'm trying hard to get him to moisturize twice a day, but he's a little hard headed:D

Also his hair really responds to my pre-poo: honey, evoo, castor oil, and suave humectress.

I would say the jamaican black castor oil from sams247.com or some mtg or wild growth. vatika oil did nothing for me except make my newgrowth really soft! HTH

This is the one I'm using too.

I recommend Lenzi's request, someone on this site said their father used it and it grew his hair back.

My SO says he should try Saw Palmetto supplements from any vitamin store
this supplement acts as a DHT blocker. DHT is the component of testosterone that causes male pattern baldness.
Saw palmetto is the main ingredient in Avacor which has been proven to regrow hair but Avacor is pricey
below is an exert taken from consumer review.net on hair loss in men

________________________________________________________________
"Male hair loss is caused by a chemical called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). A naturally occurring enzyme in your body called 5 alpha-reductase transforms the male hormone testosterone into DHT. DHT is the main cause of thinning hair and receding hairline in men.

Thanks everyone, for the tips. I have my Honey finally using conditioner after his shampoos and he is loving it; the taming, the beautiful sheen to his platinum and silver. I'm slowly introducing him to deep cons and growth aids; so far resistant. The plastic cap will be a true challenge! He also has the balding spot:confused: at the top and is very concerned. I'm going to get that MTG on his scalp some kind of way. Mr. "I'm the man", thought my hair suggestions some frilly,'froufrou', female nonsense until his conditioning results!:p

Ladies, thank you so much! I had no idea baseball caps made you lose your hair! BrooklynSouth, your husband sounds as difficult as mine. But the only difference is that my husband doesn't wash his hair!!! Since I've known him (almost ten yrs) I've seen him wash his hair TWICE! He grew up with his mom and grandma telling him dirty hair grows faster! I have a real challenge ahead of me...
