One word ladies.....Izunami. I purchased this yesterday and I am in LOVE.
After losing my old faithful flat iron two weeks ago, my weave has not been looking right at all. I usually do a wash and go on the weekend and Sunday morning is when I flat iron it. Well Sunday morning came and I couldn't find my flat iron. I looked and looked but still no sign of it, so my pretty Indian Hair was looking tore up from the floor up. If I had to go out I would put it in a pony and wear my hat and that would be it. Luckily I only had to go out three times this past two weeks.
So yesterday I had enough. I had been hearing/reading alot about the Chi and the FHI from you ladies and decided that it was time for me to take the plunge. I went into the Beauty Supply store where there was a wall just for hair appliances. I went and picked up a 14.99 flat iron just to see what it could do. Was it ceramic coated? Nope. What was the highest temp it could reach? Doesn't say. Why was it exactly 14.99? No Idea. So I asked the clerk to help me make my decision, I picked up another flat iron and asked him what he thought about it. I wanted to get more bang for my buck and trust me my old faithful flat iron was on its last leg anyway before I lost it.
The clerk showed me the high end of the gold n hot brand and also the low end. But I realized that if I spend 59.99 on a Gold N Hot I might as well spend the extra money on a CHI or a FHI. We started to compare and contrast the two. One had just an on button and no temp control. The other was 7/8 instead of the 1" that I needed. He also showed me an up and coming brand H2pro but I wasn't sure about it. I finally made my decision on the CHI, until I passed it. It was a Izunami 1" flat iron with temperature control in a leather alligator case. Now I know the leather alligator case was a bit too much but I had to see it out of the display case that it was in.
The clerk handed it to me and I told him to forget about the CHI, Izunami is it. So today is the test. Was the flat iron worth being in a leather alligator case? Yes. This flat iron is that deal for me. It heated up to my desired temp. in less than 30 seconds (indicated by the blinking light). And it turned my wavy hair into straight sleekness. I found my hot buy in '09 and it is only 11 days into the New Year.
