Do I look sad?

If the answer is yes...It's BECAUSE I AM! Will A sista ever have a proper fro?

OP, are you transitioning or is this from heat damage?

Yeah I was giving myself till April to cut them all the way off but I just keep chipping away at them like a mad woman:spinning: They were waaaaaaaay longer than they are now, I just don't want it to be too uneven.

What's to be sad about?? There aren't too many people anywhere who wouldn't be happy for as much hair as you have. I think weaves and extensions have us thinking everything has to be perfect. Hair growing out of your scalp isn't going to be perfect. The point is you got hair and plenty of it, be happy. :)

How long have you been transitioning?

I BC'd after 10 months. It was the LONGEST 10 months of my life! Transitioning is not for the faint of heart. Kudos to whoever can keep going after 12 months of 2 textures at war. You should cut it when you're ready.

Let go of the heat damage do some twists so you can do a twist-out so the different curl patterns are blended.

Remember most naturals have various curl patterns but the straight/heat damaged ends are holding you back from enjoying your natural hair to its fullest.

Your commentary and title had me laughing out loud  I'm sorry you're sad though... :(

I like your hair! It's big and gorgeous! I'd try some knot/twist/braid outs until the time came to trim (if I could get it to blend and it wasn't breaking.) Have you tried protein? If you wear it in a curly state a majority of the time, it's pretty forgiving in regards to an uneven trim.

:( I think trim is the wrong word. Cut is more like it. Usually trim means 1/4-1/2 an inch but the heat damaged ends look like more than that. Your fro is going to look amazing once you get rid of those! The sooner the better since they do not behave like the rest of your hair.

Officially for about 7 months, I've trimmed about five inches off so far, I have four and a half left to go! I'm trying to make it all the wayyyyy! But my goodness the only thing I can really do is bun witch is okay, no twist outs, and braid outs are cool. It has been hard, there have been times where I just wanted to cut it all off due to the fact the the whole front was heat damaged at one point and the back wasn't at all. People had me thinking it was gonna break off anyway but I stuck with it so far.

Thanx =D, My hair loves protein in the summer but it's the DEVIL in the winter so I only use either MT on the line where the two textures meet or Keratin Green Tea spray and so far I don't have extreme breakage only what I consider to be normal in this situation...3 to 5 on wash days and none any other time unless it's really dry.

Am I am the only one confused?? :drunk: LOL

From the title, to the pics, to the descriptions....I have no idea what we're even talking about :nono: LOL

7 months , wow you have a lot of hair! I would just cut those ends and enjoy a braid out. Your hair looks thick and full . What ever you decide best of luck!

QueenFee your hair is gorgeous! I love the texture and how soft and moisturized it looks. I think its time to let those ends go and enjoy your hair :yep:

Okay, so I have a "mullet fro". Before I decided to go natural while I was still transitioning (ie, I just up and decided I didn't want a relaxer anymore...I was so uneducated) I decided to get a cut I was always to shy to get, one that was longer in the front and asymetrical, with the back being shorter. I guess I thought this was a good idea thinking id just BC later...yeah...worst idea of my life. Anywho, I have trouble getting length in the back because its where I lay my head when I sleep. I combat it by wearing my hair in a puff (you can't tell its shorter back there), and twist outs actually look cuter with my "mullet fro" because its longer in the front (face framing) and the twists make it curl in the back where its different lenghts. Bantu knot outs are even cuter when your hair is longer in the front than in the back. So if I were you id just cut off the permed hair and start trying something

I'm DC right now...I've been trying to grow out the heat damaged portion of my hair, If I trim it now I will have a mullet fro =(

Thanx I just Trimmed off a inch and a half and it looks a lot better:yep:

I think you are at the point where to continue your transition is pointless. With such random long straight ends i can't imagine how hard styling your hair is - and you have alot of gorgeous hair. Even if you kept it straight you'd have really uneven hair. If you kept it curly you'd have obvious long straight ends.

How come you have been trimming your hair soooo unevenly?

What exactly is the point to your post? To ask if you should big chop or just to show us your transitioning hair so far?

Been there, I feel your pain.
 @ your sense of humor about it.
Hanging on to straightened ends for length's sake was one of the biggest hair mistakes I've ever made. I'd let them go ASAP unless you press frequently. Sorry about your dilemma. You still look great!

I agree with this 100%, OP. your whole post had me cracking up. especially the last line about having a perfect fro. don't worry, in due time you will. you're doing a fab job with your hair :yep:

Like someone else said I think you reached a point where transitioning any further is pointless. I think your hair would look so beautiful if you just cut those straight pieces off. Amazing growth btw OP.

Oh man, OP you are hilarious for that. I would say cut those "heated" ends off, but I will cut my hair in a New York minute, so I might not be the best judge. But you do have a lot of beautiful and big hair hair, I love it.
