Hi guys, I'm sad today, my split ends are running rampant for real. I don't know if it's because I'm conditioner washing every night and manipulating my hair too much, I'm not sure. Is it bad for your hair to be wet all of the time? Because I have been putting it in two buns after washing every night so it takes a long time to dry. I just got a trim like 2 weeks ago and I'm not up to doing it again. Any suggestions on what I can do to stop breakage?

I feel your pain. I just had a trim and I am still fighting a battle with them. Right now I'm trimming as I see them...using Tigi Bed Head Ego Boost...and doing the Baggie method twice a week to try to help. Have you tried the the baggie method yet?

you know what I'm doing just sweeping the wet hair up in two pony tails spraying S-curl, using Nairobi leave in conditioner, and some coconut oil and making buns I haven't tried the baggie method, is that working for you?

I've only been doing it for about a week...so I can't tell just yet. I am about to bump a post for you. I was so stressed last week that I made a post like this and a few people gave some good tips and methods.

Definitely try the Ego Boost. I've been using it for about two weegs now and my ends seem to be doing well. I definitely don't think your splits are a result of the method you're using now. Hair loves moisture and keeping them moisturized usually combats splits. Even though you just got a trim, it's not imposible to still have spis, as they sometimes occur anywhere along the hair shaft.

My hair was shedding so bad that I just wanted to give up. I started using the baggie method and it works. I will always have breakage and shedding but I have to be gentle because I am so heavy-handed. What type of comb are you using? Some people can't do co washes so do what's best for you.

Amber when you condition wash do you use hot water? Not scalding hot water but kind of warm water. Because I heard that wetting your hair with hot water can cause split ends. My ends used to split a lot when I first start doing conditioner washes and I thought that I was doing something wrong. But actually the water was too warm so I started doing conditioner washes with cool water, as cool as I could stand it, and my problem was eliminated. So you might want to condition wash in cooler water.

Hey ladies, I've been a member for a few weeks now and I love this board! But forgive my ignorance on the subject.....what is the baggie method?

Sorryt it took so log to get back to you guys, Ricamorena I do wash with warm water, only because it's more conveinent in the shower, this week I will try that cold water method, I also am using a wide tooth comb. I don't know I'm going to try everything you guys said, thanks alot

What hair type do you have? My hair use to get a lot of split ends when I tried to wash it every day. I find that washing 2-3 times a week is the most I can do. But split ends are a hazard that comes just from handling the hair itself. Try using a good strength and conditioning leave-in like TIGIs Health Goddess (strengthens and softens and has vitamins A, B5, C and E) and Ego Boost which is a good leave-in conditioner that repairs and prevents split ends. I have been using these two products for two months and I checked for split ends this week end and found only three. I think thatis pretty good. These products do work, but they are not moisturizing, so use a moisturizing leave-in afterwards, followed by your regular hair dressing.
