My Hair grows in Spots!!! Is this weird?

I braided my hair last week 9/16/09
since then i have kept the braids in an up do, with little to know manipulation.
Tonight is was feeling the roots to see if I could notice any growth.

What I feel is weird, some braids feel like they have about 1/8 to 1/4 amount of growth. Then a braid right beside a growth braid feels like it hasn't grown at all.

I know some feel like slipage because the hair at the root feels straight. I did a blow out before I braided my hair. but the ones that feel like growth have that ripple feeling.

is that weird or is that how hair grows?

I bet it's only me I am a little weird

Hmm...my hair is the same way. I don't think every pore or hair follicle grows at the same exact rate. It's like the pores on our skin, some areas breakout and others don't. Sometimes, certain parts of your head grows hair faster than others. I know my sides and nape grows the fastest....the crown and front are the slowest. I don't think it's anything to be concerned about, as long as you are able to see eventual growth all around.

That's normal. Remember, not all hairs are in the same phase at the same time. Some are growing, and some are resting (and about to shed).
