One of my adopted mothers came to me about a month ago and announced that she's been getting perms since they first came out 50 years ago and she was done. She told me she'd been watching my hair (I've been natural for 31 months) and that she wanted her hair healthy and thick again, too.
She called me that night with pen and paper saying "Now you know I wasn't gon' remember all that - so tell it again, slow." (She's not quite 80 and is a pistol!)
So proud of both of our grannies!
