Just wanted to post some pics of my bredren Jeremiah's dreads for all the ladies that love them. He has been growing his dreads for 4 years and says his braids came just about to his chin when he started locing. He started locing because he says his hair wasn't growing past that length in twists and braids. He wears lots of simple styles and always looks fly with his dreads :lick:

This is his natural color. He thinks that they are getting bleached from him swimming (in the ocean) and then laying out in the sun afterwards. I gave him some coconut oil because I think that might help but please share any other tips. He kind of likes the color but doesn't want it to get lighter.

He just got them done on Saturday

He doesn't like taking pictures so this is the closest I was getting to a smile :lachen:

Please show him some love!

Naturallygoldie, What do you think will stop it. He has been wondering about using rosemary to darken them and he also told me that Brahmi grows wild here so I wonder about him using that too. Rosemary oil helped keep my hair dark because the relaxer usually makes it go reddish but I don't know if it will turn light to dark. Plus I know hardly anything about dreads.

His locks are GORGE! Did he start them from plaits? The look very neat and cultivated!

I have no idea! I will have to ask him. I was trying to think of questions you ladies would ask and didn't even think of this one.

His locs are wonderful. I like the color. But if he wants to darken them, I hear that rinses with black tea or coffee can darken hair some if done semi-regularly.

His locks are beautiful and he is a handsome man. He looks like he could be one of my cousins, but I know he's not.

boiled walnuts, tea, coffee, and possibly amla or sage can darken hair. Then of course there henna when you indigo your hair. I haven't tried any though so I'm not sure how potent or quick it works.

Love his locs though. How often does he tighten then?
