My First (And Probably Last) Attempt At A Bantu Knot Out ... *PICS*

Take a picture of your back hair results. Everyone thinks it looks great including myself! Very stylish and trendy looking! Maybe the ladies can tell you how to reduce drying time and fix up the back to your liking. Can not bantu knots be done on dry hair with products and let it set overnight? I don't know, since I never tried it.

it's gorgeous? why would this be your last attempt? How did you sleep on your bantu knots? was it comfortable? or was this done in one sitting under the dryer?

It came out really cute! I said this in your other thread but I do mine on dry hair or SLIGHTLY damp (like 90% dry) hair. They usually set pretty well over night and I never have problems w/ them coming out still wet.

^^ i agree! ive done it on dry hair and just used a little ecostyler gel and a moisturizer and the next day it was completely dry. looks good nevertheless :)

Looks good to me Taz!!!

Also i have noticed the bigger the bantu's the cuter it comes out

ETA: Have you tried steam rollers?

I agree,

Check these out as well, they were (IMO) well done and resulted in really pretty knot outs.

It looks really cute in the pics. I have the same problem. My hair is thick, so it takes a long time to dry when I do no-heat styles. I let it air-dry loose for a while, then do my braids or bantu-knots and that helps cut down the drying time. You could also let it air-dry completely first. I use Curly Meringue on damp hair, which helps my hair dry faster than when I use just a butter/moisturizer.

I think u did a great job. It looks so nice and bouncy. Can't wait until my hair grows about 5 more inches (another year or a little less) so my bantu set looks like yours.

Thank you, thank you! I think next time I will:

1. Use less bantu knots.
2. Ensure that my hair is completely dry before the knots.

Thats what we are here for to share the wealth, even though my hair is not long enough (YET) I look at these from time to time so when it is my time I will be ready

Post pics the next time you do them.

i think they came out great! now u just style it or pick thru it. i probably wouldve blended my bangs in with the rest... but i think It looks so pretty!

It looks fantastic to me. I've tried bantu knots so many times and it looks awful every time. I'd be thrilled if my hair turned out like yours.

I think u used way too many knots. At your length I would only do about 6-8 knots. At my length (btw apl-bsl) I only do 4 knots. Otherwise you get these tight jerry curls...unless thats the look you were going for... then nvrmd

I agree with the other ladies. I've never done bantu knots on wet or slightly damp hair. It's always been on dry, moisturized hair overnight. If you give it enough time, it's gonna "set" anyway. But your results are still lovely regardless.
