[FONT=&quot]I'm so excited for her! I relaxed her hair just before she turned five :nono:

She would always play in my hair and tell me she wanted hers "just like mine" straight.

I relaxed her hair once every 6 months during the past few years. She had her last relaxer in August of 08 and proudly announced that she was going to transition with me (my last relaxer was Nov 08).

After I did the BC, she constantly played in my hair and told me how much she loved it

Sunday night (14 Feb) she let me know she was ready and we proceeded to do the chop!

I'm so happy my baby is confident and comfortable and who she is. Its a tough age; peer pressure and the need to conform and be like everyone else is a challenge. I'm thankful for her strong mind and will.

Enjoy the pics!

Her hair looks beautiful! Thirteen is a difficult age to be different...hopefully more will follow in her path.:yep:

Her hair is BEAUTIFUL!!! What a brave girl. I think it's awesome that your daughter wants to be like you. That's one of the reasons I went natural. I want DD to love her beautiful curls.

This is so cute. It really is commendable that such a young girl was able to make this decision on her own. Its obviously she's comfortable with who she is thanks to the great parenting skills of her mom. Congrats to both of you!

I concur with all the comments! Your daughter does have naturally beautiful hair! It almost brings a tear to my eyes knowing she wants to be like her mommy! I know you must be and feel very proud of her.

My daughter too has decided to transition from relaxed to natural and I am thrilled!:yep:

excellent! her hair is beautiful and she looks lovely! imagine when it starts to grow longer! :yep:

Wow Mommy! Please tell your daughter that her hair is absolutely beautiful and I admire her decision! You are doing an amazing job with her hair. Kudos to you!

Thank you ladies! When she gets home from school today I will let her read all of your comments. I know that will boost her self esteem even more!

Beautiful....thank you for sharing! I am so inspired by you. What a wonderful gift you've given your DD. The gift of confidence, pride and choice! Her hair looks beautiful!

Aww that's so sweet. Her hair is beautiful.

My DD was doing the same...playing in my hair and saying she wanted hers like mine(straight). I told her that I wanted mine like hers(natural/curly)..so I began my transition :)

Great job mommy!!! Her hair is GORGEOUS!! Love the curls.

Keep us posted on her progress and how she feels about her hair
