:lachen: Ok this is something!! My dad wants to do Indigo, I didn't know what to do or say. Hi head is full of gray hair and he uses the permanent dye for men, his hair is in bad condition right now. He used to have beautiful hair like all my brothers but age and dyes have done a lot of damage to his hair.

Now, I need an Indigo recipe for my dad:eek:

I don't DC, just wash - color & conditioner

I did henna and indigo Saturday.....beautiful black color but my hair was hard, bushy and a light tangling. Next day I deep conditioned..it was better, still dull, so added moisturizing leave ins. This morning used Dabur Lite Amla and NTM. Right now added ORS olive oil..starting to improve. I know I'll do it again for lasting color.

From what I understand, you should not use Indigo alone.
(Someone correct me if I'm wrong- JLove)

It should still be mixed with henna.

But you don't wait for the henna color release.

So you would mix the henna + oil + condish,

then mix the indigo + HOT water ,

then apply.

leave on for a couple of hours w/plastic cap

then poo & con.

Let us know how it turns out.

lol...
I thot it was just my dad. he started to henna with me and then we tried Amla powder. he decided he prefers Amla powder. he does it all himself now - mixing it and everything.
i'm all for it, our men folk shouldn't be left out of all this knowledge.
I think u'll just need trial and error to determine the right mix for him. good luck

Don't use indigo on your father's gray hair without mixing in henna because if you don't his gray strands will be purple:grin:

if your dad wants jet black hair he has to do a two step process

first aply the henna mixture let it sit then rinse it completely out

then apply the indigo mixture let it sit then rinse out

have you read the henna for hair ebook, it will answer alot of questions and the source is reliable so you don't have to worry about misinformation

here's the link to the book

here's another link from the site that has different recipes listed

:lachen: Thanks ladies, he lives in New Jersey but I will go there soon, so I am planning to get my dad a makeover. He is a very handsome man (for real) and the gray hair is not his thing, so Why not? Let’s get the man some LHCF's love/ knowledge
