I am so pleased with the results and my hair has grown! I underprocessed my hair about a month ago, so I was stuck with a big bush plus whatever new growth I was getting. I was also starting to shed/break more, so I took advantage of a trip home to get a touch-up, but he called it a corrective relaxer (I guess it sorta was, without the pulling through part!). He used Affirm Fiberguard Reg (love, love, love!!!!), and he did not overlap or smooth the relaxer into my hair. My hair was thicker and full of much more body than usual--not bone straight and limp! He also trimmed very nicely and I got to see my growth. Definitley not a SHS! But the real kicker, was that he started telling me what to do for my hair. He told me to stretch my relaxer to 12 weeks, don't go to stylists who overlap etc. He was very concerned with my hair's health and explaining to me everything that he did. He also said that a lot of clients just want the process done and do not want to hear about why they should not get a color applied on their hair that has already been through too much. He said that, unfortunately, a lot of clients don't want to be educated about what needs to be done to make their hair healthier. I thought this was too bad, but it would explain the assembly line mentality that a lot of salons have. I am sorry that I don't live in my home state, because I would go to him for my touch-ups!!! I got nothing but compliments on the length (which is short to me--an inch or so below top of shoulder blades now) and the look. Anyway, I guess I am just happy that I had a good experience so far and I love the Affirm relaxer. I will never go back to Mizani!!! Unfortunately, I have no photos to share, because I was out of town w/o my digicam.
