My 1st braidout attempt with pix

Ok ladies, here are a few pix of my 1st braidout attempt. I like some of it and some I don't like. The right side and the front are cute to me, but on the other hand, the left side and the back look a HAM. Anyway, I washed and DC'd my hair, then parted my hair in 6 sections and did french braids while my hair was pretty wet. I lost a lot of hair during this process, so next time I'm gonna wait until my hair is only damp before I attempt to braid it. On each section I used Hairveda Hydromist, Whipped cream and sealed each part with Cocasta oil. This morning when I unraveled it I lost a good amount of strands to, so if you ladies have any suggestions for me please let me know. Anyway, here they are:

French braids always resulted in hair loss for me, that's why I stick to flat twists. My french braid outs would always look a mess but flat twist outs come out very defined. The more you practice the better you'll get, don't get discouraged.

Ladylends i used to have the same problem too. Now after i wash my hair i wait and let my hair airdry a little so it is just damp, otherwise i shed a lot of hair too and my hair isnt completely dry in the morning. I twirl the ends around little foam rollers (otherwise my ends look a bit straggly because they stay straight), then cover my head with a silk scarf and go to bed. In the morning I undo the braids VERY gently to avoid pulling my hair out.

I found this thread with a bunch of braid out and twist out pictures. They were so beautiful. I'm definitely encouraged by that thread. I'm definitely attempting this again once I hit shoulder length

I agree with Honeycomb. Flat Twistouts come out way more defined than braidouts for me too. I do them on damp hair and also in six sections. It's my trademark style right now. Just make sure you do a good job detangling on each section before you put them in.

Yes, doing braidouts on completely wet hair doesn't agree with me....and the rollers for super straight ends is a great thing, too! :D
