Aw, thanks you guys! Y'all are too sweet, I'm all cheesin'.
That is my flat ironed hair! I used Sabino Moisture Block, Chi Silk Infusion, and my Solia flat iron at 370 degrees. Every time I've flat ironed my hair in the last 12 years (which means, probably, like 7 times), it's turned out like that. I don't know if I'm lacking technique or I'm just not turning the heat up high enough, but I always get a Diana Ross. Which is cool by me, I like it. That took me 2 flippin hours, which is why I've only done it around 7 times in 12 years. Then again, that's not really much longer than it takes me to do twists. I work on tiny sections, each about the size of a twist, so I probably do 60 sections. Comb through, flat iron, gently pick out ends, move on to next section.
I really like your hair. We have the same type of hair. It looks extremely healthy and I can identify with your hair issues. I also can't hold a press for a long time either. What works for me is a light blow dry and then a hot comb as opposed to a flat iron but still I have to say it doesn't really last.
